I visited AVUS back in 2018. I didn’t walk the full lap, but had a bit of an explore around the grandstand area and the hotel that was once the former control tower. It’s a shame it closed down - I think it was so unique as a circuit that it would still have appealed to some racing series. Formula E could have even used the area on a shorter layout but sadly not to be. Next time I visit Berlin I will actually try and stay in the hotel and get the full experience

Formula E won't use AVUS due too big affect on traffic

Love the channel, really great to see the old circuits. Just a moment to remember Kieth O'dor who tragically died at Avus

The grandstands are currently being renovated as of late 2020 by a businessman who has bought them. The plans are to convert them into a glass panelled event venue, with the space below ground being used for offices. Another section will be used as a car museum. Work should be finished this year.

The banked wall of bricks looks so intimidating in the old pictures. Just goes to show how brave and fearless these drivers were

I have driven on the banking of Sitges-Terramar and I can confirm that it's very intimidating. Glory to the heroes of the past who went here looking for the limit, where a mistake was fatal.

I came by here in the late 90s, the first thing I saw being the grandstand. Thinks: what is that doing there? Of course if I knew beforehand I would have seen the 'Wall of Death'. Thanks to Herman's earlier run a few years back, now I knew. The circular time keeping building with the Mercedes piece on top wasn't much higher than the unguarded banking. Notice also the name of English rock band, Bad Company, written on the wall of the grandstand.

Hey guys I see you're trying the premiere feature! Let me know if it worked out for you. My experience of the AVUS is in a DTM sim race. I was in a Porsche 935... not ideal for the short straight....up against Zakspeed prepared Ford Capri Turbos and Lancias... wow ! So much fun

I already use the premiere feature for a long time. It works well to create a connection with my audience.

8:35 Not only it was the way to west Germany, passing through East Germany and from what I've found you weren't even allowed to stop anywhere outside of designated road and the East German and Soviet authorities could take you to jail if they'd find someone from the west roaming around outside the motorway

You should play NR2003. People of that community have created some stunning stuff I think you should check out. Ignore the community. Those guys are rude and disrespectful, and don't deserve any of your time.

Is there 130 km/h speed limit on that part of the Autobahn or can you go as fast as you like?
