Linking pleasure to some pain really works. 30 years ago I linked working out at the gym to having an hour to myself to read, listen to podcasts, watch a movie or what ever. That was 20 years ago and I am still going strong at 61. An hour a day in the gym, as many days a week as I have entertainment. LOL

Linking pleasure to anything that causes you pain but produces positive results is a very powerful action to take

“Enjoy making decisions. You must know that in any moment a decision you make can change the course of your life forever: the very next person you stand behind in line or sit next to on an airplane, the very next phone call you make or receive, the very next movie you see or book you read or page you turn could be the one single thing that causes the floodgates to open, and all of the things that you’ve been waiting for to fall into place. If you really want your life to be passionate, you need to live with this attitude of expectancy.” From "Awaken the Giant Within"

I love this book , even my english as secondary language not that strong , and I translated alot of words .Thus, I summarize each chapter I finished in my own words . I assure that I learn alot of things about myself , and I learn english too at the same time , I think I understand atleast 70% of the book .My friends told me it's the hardest way because this book is so deep , but I have an old core belief that nothing is deficult , nothing is impossible, every things in life are achievable and our brains are much more strong than what we can imagin .

The brain responds heavily to pain, use this as a tool. It goes towards pleasure and away from pain. As conscious being we have the power to change the associations our brain makes and therefore change the world we experience. On the same token, understand the power of your beliefs and notice limiting beliefs. Correct these quickly and reshape your identity. Lastly, get very clear on what it is that you want. Visualize your objectives and attach a lot of drive and meaning to them. Feel a fire light underneath you, an itch for action. Then plan for the obstacles with this high.

Who said you're not on that path? Did you just decide you're done because of one obstacle?

@@isacomr2274 more like relentless chronic health obstacles that started at 15 and somehow worse now at 30. I thought by being disciplined and determined I would over come the diseases but they just slowly but surely chewed the shit out of me. I have to aim for what’s realistic not what my dreams are. Son I’m just trying to get through the day.

I wish I could keep a window open in my mental outlook, like my actual vision of sight, so I have physical access and implement useful tools in real-time...instead of filing in my brain somewhere with good intentions but not utalizing in realtime.

Resisting the force/flow of life is the dumbest advice ever. Money is a shallow concept of wealth. Just cause banana hands wrote a book doesn't mean it's good advice. That's a wrap.
@IyokuUnlimited4 жыл бұрын
Plus Bonus It’s not resisting the flow of life, the metaphor was intended to demonstrate how often people let their environment dictate their progression. Guessing by your childish insult you were looking for a reason to dislike the content though, rather than trying to objectively understand it?
