As an American in Texas a state known for very loose gun laws. Your assessment is 100% accurate. I own guns and I have been shooting guns my entire life. Cars are much more dangerous than guns and kill more people. It’s everyone’s right to be able to protect themselves. Criminals will always have guns. If you take guns away from good citizens then the criminals have an advantage. Mexico is a perfect example of this. All the criminals still have access to guns no problem.

Personally I was really into Kichboxing and Full contact karate all my teenage years. Recently after a few years I have again started morning workouts(5-8km run, 20×4 pushup, 25×4 Squat, 100 situps) kickboxing. I plan to learn bjj or wrestling to bookend my kickboxing with some grappling, I recently realized the importance of it.

Kalarippayattu was very effective back then because it was mainly a martial arts with deadly weapons like Urumi, Dagger, Sword, Small Stick etc. But now it's impossible to walk around with such weapons.😂 But those who know “Marmma Vidya”(fatal points) are still dangerous tho. It can't be used as a sport.

I'm a little sceptical of the "pressure points" thing also propagated by Chinese fake martial arts because they keep getting destroyed by people who know MMA.

@@collegestreetkolkata9669 Pressure points do work, but you'll have to go through rigorous training under a proper guru to be accurate with it. A single strike from a weapon like the otta in kalarippayattu, properly aimed at the marma on top of the head can split the suture joints, and a well placed jab in a specific spot below the collarbone can rupture the aorta, for example, but you'll definitely need the skills to survive long enough for them to land in the first place, so yeah. Training the physique comes first.

Overall I agree with the video, but I disagree with your points on traditional martial arts like kalaripayattu. This may be my bias, can't deny that, but it also may be due to your lack of exposure. Most Kalaris prioritize the exhibitionistic aspect of the artform to please the people but the actual training and sparring methods are rather rugged and may even look dirty to the uninitiated. Furthermore, hand to hand combat is the final of the combat aspect of the art, most of which prioritizes unarming the enemy, using the opponent's arms against them, grappling, aspects of wrestling, wide swings and, if the guru deems you fit, pressure points and how to attack them. So now we have two extremities, one that is completely showmanship and one that is outright lethal. Furthermore some southern versions of kalari has been reduced to fitness programs, completely discarding weapons training. I believe it would be more apt to try and find local martial arts, and resuscitate them. Arts like Kuthuvarisai and Thang Ta, along with all the variations of malla yuddha and gushti deserve more recognition. Apart from that, fully agree. Got a new subscriber

I disagree with you here. I don't even want to imagine the havoc that would be caused if India legitimizes carrying firearms and makes it easy to carry guns. Crimes and Death toll will rise exponentially. India is not a developed country like US,our per capita income is about $2500. I believe we are still doing great, any other country with this low per capita income would see massive violence, Corruption and genocides happening, part of this can be credited to India's Hindu Civilisation and inherent belief of Ahimsa in the masses. Crime statistics show that riots and violent pogroms are on constant decrease since decades. I agree that Hindus should awaken their Kshatriya spirit by practicing and training in mixed martial arts, etc. I even support Israel-like compulsory military training for every student after they complete their 12th grade. However, carrying firearms is not a solution.Most Hindu families would never agree on keeping a gun in their house.On the other hand, those who don't fear beheading humans or animals would now have guns instead of stones, which even the police would find difficult to control them. Secondly,You can't compare that with the US, which has a mostly homogeneous population, both religiously and culturally, whereas India is diverse, and every day we will see massacres happening on streets.What we can do is increase the police-to-civilian ratio, hold the police accountable, and give them a free hand to control rioters and criminals.The police should be provide with all necessary skilled training. This is the only solution.

You posted random facts and concluded something unrelated. I am not comparing India with US which is exactly why mass school shootings is not a relevant concern in India. "More gun=more deaths" works only in an imaginary dimension where bullets don't pierce the bodies of human beings.
