Personal Log Davon Cress, CO of Independence-Class Capital Ship "Phoenix" Currently onboard the Venator-Class battlecarrier "Liberation" Well, never thought I'd be commanding another capital ship but here I am. Command needed captains familiar with the type three hyperdrives, served on a previous ship, and those with a history of engineering/damage control. I figured it was fine to come back into the command seat of a massive capital ship again. Looks like high command did too considering Vantiss. He's been hitting imperial targets non-stop it seems. Periodically resupplying and repairing at hidden rebel bases, then leaving for up to weeks on end. Anyway, the Phoenix is currently being decked out. Mainly installation of the newer FCS and point defense as well as brand new software. What I hope is that we could link C9 to the ship itself, giving the ship some degree of autonomy. To find enough crew to operate a Dauntless is one thing, but having to find thousands more for a ship this big? You bet your ass we're gonna need twice that. The Razgriz will be docked to the ship's underside hangar in case we ever need to evacuate the ship. Anyhow, the state of the galaxy. All of the corpo fleets are all but scrap. Kyle Katarn gave us extremely valuable intel all gathered from his extensive time being shifted around, prison-to-prison. An invasion of the CorSec capital on Etti IV is imminent. Shack's hoping we get all this wrapped up and done before we start funneling resources into Kuat. I, for one, would like to see investments made into starfighters and picket ships. The Black Sun's flagship was destroyed by the ad-hoc 11th Fleet, mostly volunteers from many different systems in the south. Under Admiral Luthan Carrick, the 11th managed to get the drop on the Black Sun, forcing them into a decisive battle in the Ring of Kafrene. The battle was costly for our side, mainly due to the lack of experience and point defense. However, to quote the report I have here, "Despite the losses we sustained, it was a decisive victory". Admiral Carrick did well, considering he was only promoted last week. Now, the 11th now has free reign to mop up whatever is left of the sun's southern offensive. Speaking of, a massive armed uprising from both the Black sun and Imperial loyalists sprung up on Eriadu. The local governor was apparently discovered to be sympathizing with the black sun, providing connections to various systems in the south, allowing the Black Sun to corrupt freely. Upon discovery, our local garrison was sent to arrest the governor, who took refuge in his heavily guarded estate. The Imperial Loyalist factions saw this as an opportunity to strike where the local garrison wasn't, creating a three-way clusterkriff that engulfed the capital in chaos for a few days before our garrisons overwhelmed both parties. The loyalists have mostly scattered, and the governor was... found dead. Command, particularly Mon Mothma and Calrissian want an investigation into the governor given his aid towards the Sun. Likely we have people on other worlds doing the same. Lastly, The Wheel. Looks like the Sun's been eying it up ever since we've moved Ackbar out to deal with CorSec. That flashy space casino, like it or not, is an extremely good source of revenue for whoever is controlling it. We can't let the sun take back control over it. As soon as we're done with CorSec, we'll be hitting Mandalore and The Wheel with every ship in the north we have. For now, Admiral Cress, out.

Rebel Diaries 46 - The worst of the trap posed by the Corporate Sector campaign is passed, I believe. The pressures from the Black Sun remain and have pushed on Operation Space Blitz. While the Northern Fleet was mauled taking Deltooine, it did gravely weaken the Corporate Sector Fleet and forced them to gather everything else they had when they took Korriban. And while that was frustrating, particularly with the Black Sun still active in the Mandalore Pocket, it became something that had to be dealt with, and as the Eastern Fleet moved through Corporate Sector space, I've found that despite the losses they inflicted on the Northern Fleet in the initial battle and the attack on Korriban, they've actually lost nearly all of their space borne resources and allowed Operation Space Blitz to work. We have secured the orbit over Etti IV, Ession, and Bonadan, and that will buy us time... The ground forces are rather thin, as the best formations are either engaged in the core, maintaining the Mandalore Pocket, and preventing the Empire from making gains against us as part of holding the Mandalore Pocket. But ground forces are being raised and will arrive in time. With that, I would report to Alliance High Command that with Operation Space Blitz completed, the Northern Fleet can provide the orbital support for the capture of the Corporate Sector worlds while having its numbers being built back up from either local construction yards or from Dac. The Eastern Fleet can then return to operations around the Mandalore Pocket and looking to weaken the Black Sun positions there, particularly as they retook the Wheel as part of their campaign. I've heard reports that the garrison managed to take out a few light ships, but the capital ships were too much for what was there. That will require a major effort against the Mandalore Pocket and whittling down its defenses. The Eastern Fleet should be strong enough, and with luck, once the Corporate Sector planets are taken, we'll have ground forces ready to fight the massive battles that will be needed for Mandalore and the other Black Sun worlds in the Mandalore pocket. In this, while we've defeated the worst of the trap... there is a long way still to go. I would add that reports from the south have also added good news. The Southern Fleet managed to catch IG88's Lucrehulk and its escorting fleet. And while it's ad hoc nature left a lot of things at random and they did report some losses, they did destroy the Black Sun fleet, including IG88's Lucrehulk. Reports are sketchy but it would seem that they also managed to defeat an Imperial attack on Rattatak as well. And with Eriadu returning to Alliance control, I would anticipate that a lot of the worst of the worries in the south have been overcome. That main Southern Fleet may need replacements from the fight with IG88, but with careful building, it should be powerful... and even as it is at this moment, it should be strong enough to push the Black Sun out of Azzameen Station and restore the southern front's line to where it was before IG88's Lucrehulk appeared. And in this, we've had great success. Which is good, as the Mandalore Pocket will take time to reduce. - Admiral Ackbar

Captain's Log #46. Greetings Commander. With the prodution of the new Home One sister ship, I have put in requests around the galaxy for staff in order for that bird to fly. It shouldn't be long before people are ready. I suggest we use the ship as security forces and get it a fleet quickly. I hope this reinforcement period isn't seen as a time for IG-88 or the Empire to send forces after us. In the meantime I have to complete the paper for the new MC Independence so you don't have to. If you're looking for pickets, shack, bulk cruisers are surprisingly effective with their mix of heavy laser cannons and flak. MC30s and assault frigates work pretty well too, but there isn't really a good frigate with anti-corvette/light frigate counter as the rebellion since you don't have assault missiles on any non-exclusive ships. If you're looking for larger pickets, the liberator has some flak, heavy laser cannons, jamming, and carries decent fighters, but takes up a lot of fleet cap and is ironically quite vulnerable to bombers due to its single shield generator. Edit: you *do* have DP20s, but I've found they usually die too quickly to be effective against enemy heavy fighters and corvettes. GR75s/Quasars have flak, which is good fighter picketing/screening, but it puts them in a fairly vulnerable location.

54:30 I had the same problem in one of my games, i think it happens because the enemy is finishing building a structure at the same time u attack the world and win the battle (which u did last episode). The problem is that on the map that planet is still on the enemy control, but the troops u have deployed and survived are still on the ground. When you attack again it spawns your previous troops in the defense formation like the world is under your control, but now the new building has been built. Anyway, keep up the troops morale, captain!

24:15 The largest Picket the Rebellion gets is the Liberator cruiser. The best Rebel picket overall is the Neb B, as it gets the jammer and has low enough pop to round out a fleet well. Rebels get no dedicated ship for AA. The closes to pure AA it gets is the CR90 and the Bulk Cruiser, though the DP20 with it's 2 Dual Repeating PD has the best AA potential per pop. Ther real best AA for Rebels is X-Wings and micro, with Braha'toks in close second (concussion missiles are good). The most efficient way to deploy X-Wings per pop is by far the Quasar class carrier with the Strike Loadout. Quasars themselves also get some AA with 4 Flak LCs.

Rogue Squadron Journal Week 262 - Etti IV Cmdr. Witton Bogre - Rogue Leader Brush fires continue to spread across the Rebellion. From the Southwest to the North and everywhere in between. The southern front has seen a multitude of skirmishes over and on Eriadu with the Black Sun. The good news is that their flagship, IG-88's Luchrehulk, was destroyed along with his fleet, hopefully blunting their offensive. The Empire also struck out in that region as well. They've been rather lax on their attacks on us as of late. Hard to say if that's because they're biding their time or because they can't field as many warships anymore. Time will tell. The situation around Mandolor continues to deteriorate as the Black Sun in that region have retaken the Wheel now. I truly hope the ones who suggested that we abandon our encirclement of the Black Sun there in favor of a new front against CorSec are removed. The good news is that said front is now coming To a swift conclusion. Once Admiral Ackbar arrived things turned around quick. Of the last two remaining CorSec worlds, both are now cleared of orbital defenses and ready for ground invasions. The Admiral requested Rogue Squadron to head up his fighter squadrons and with the Rogues leading the way and Home One hot on our heels we smashed through what was left of the CorSec defense fleet. This was my first time commanding the squadron since Janson gave me command. It seems that Janson made the right move by stepping back. He's gotten back to his old joking self again and it's raised the squadron's moral significantly. This was certainly better than my first combat mission as Rogue Leader. A month ago Me and Rylan, the commander of Saber Squadron were tasked by Alliance intelligence to steal a Lambda class shuttle for a mission of theirs. Long story short I made a bad call and we got shot down, but managed to escape and complete the mission. Sadly Rylan lost his arm due to the crash and from saving my life from a rocket strike. He's already got a new prosthetic arm but it never should of come to that. I should've been better, I'm Rogue Leader now. All the Alliance looks to me now to lead it's best fighter squadron and this is how I start my career? By nearly getting my best friend killed and losing him arm? Wedge would disappointed in me. Some Rogue Leader I am.

Personal Holo Log: Captain Kyran Tadden 'Nightswan'. Alliance Intelligence, RSS Liberation. Lately I can't help but think over the last few weeks as 'security detail' for the Chancellor was a myriad of other things to happen all at once. Despite being part of the detail, Cali insisted she come along as it was one of the few times she knew where I was going to be at all times. Even if it was places like a food stand across from Mon Mothma's latest public outing in the Mon Cala streets or a hovercar ride making sure a transporter loaded with ISB or a Black Sun hit squad didn't take a shot at the Chancellor... won't like those brief moments where I could let my guard down it was good to... can't beleive I'm saying this, it was just good to do all those small, simple things we used to do before I was roped in to the Naboo cell. I even remember Witton asking be over dinner how things were going and I didn't even answer before Kallus dragged the Intel Net on this assignment. Truth be told, it's going... but I wish it were more. Maybe when this war is over the two of us go back to Naboo, find some out of the way spot of land and... well, things better left for private thoughts. Didn't much last though, soon as we were about to call it a night after an evening dinner, Kallus called me, said it was urgent and that I needed to be at the Chancellorial.. Head of State's, I don't know what the Kriff she wants people to call herself, all I know is Kallus wanted me there as fast as humanly possible, sounded as though something serious had happened or was about to happen. By the time I arrived at the office it sounded as if General Draven was being ripped a new one by Generals Cor and Oneron about the 'apocalyptic' loss of manpower and eqipment in during the CorSec campaign and the lack of actionable intelligence on IG-88s rampage across the Echo Cell. He immediatly tried to shift the blame on to Kallus and the Cell saying it was our job to keep the greater Rebellion informed. Kallus promptly went for his throat: My fieldwork, both documented and otherwise had given the Rebellion actionable intelligence on Imperial holdings and Black Sun dealings, having conveniently stopped when I was reassigned as part of Mon Mothma's security detail when the talks were coming to an end. Bridger's work with the Bothan Spy Network with probes in to territory beyond our reach like the mid rim and Core Worlds, conveniently absent after being told to hold off until CorSec had been supressed. And White Owl's updates on Imperial R&D efforts, even able to point us in the direction of key Imperial Shipyards and Production Facilities. Again going silent while CorSec becomes top priority. Rather than risk the heads of our Starfighter Corps and SpecForce ripping their pound of flesh out of Draven, Mon Mothma was prompt with her response: Draven would be temporarily removed from duty while a full inquest into his decision making in regard to the CorSec offensive was looked in to, and as General Madine was in the field helping to put out brushfires and I was a field operative, Kallus was given the responsability to figure out how to handle the CorSec problem before the Imperials and Black Sun broke out and started to retake old territory. Simple though it was, Kallus already had something in mind for CorSec: he knew our usual tactic of 'leapfrogging' from one target to the next wasn't going to work with CorSec like it does with the Empire and Black Sun, with CorSec it would allow them to throw their credits around and buy their way out of the problem with orbital assets to spearhead a breakout. The CorSec region HAD to be locked down in it's entierty before we even considered launching ground invasions. The hiccup at Korriban made the flaw quite clear. Demolish their fleet, blockade their planets so they couldn't get replacements in to orbit. Under the direction of Admiral Ackbar, General Madine and Captain's Eclipse and Shack, the orbits of Etti IV, Bonadan and Ession were secured with minimal, information of CorSec's disposition having been provided by, of all people, Kyle Katarn. Allowing the fleets to know where to jump in, what to co-ordinate our fire on, the works. All those years locked up inside a CorSec detention cell I'm surprised he didn't take the opportunity to level some of those orbital assets himself. Still, the job can be considered done: by the time I... me and Cali got back to the Liberation, the whole region was under lockdown. I was also brought up to speed on happenings elsewhere. It took some effort and quite some losses, but the Black Sun Luchrehulk has been put out of our misery. Despite it being so old, it's sheer size and firepower would make it a formidable target, even for a Star Destroyer. Even so it allowed the Echo Cell region to secure holdings and retake ground such as Eriadu. The Empire must have smelled an opportunity to attack as they launched a strike against Rattatak, somehow co-ordinating our defense with an incoming Pirate Raid, softening the Imperials up before the Southern Fleet could get in to position and scare the Empire off. The only negative to the whole ordeal is that the Black Sun have retaken The Wheel, despite the defenders putting up a stern and dogged resistance. As tempting as the notion is to recall the fleet from CorSec to deal with the issue, we need to finish the campaign as quickly as possible before we can consider turning our assets around lets CorSec have another play to make that upturns our efforts. For now though... I'm going to try and not worry about it too much, lest I get swallowed up by the job... and Cali swats me over the head with something.

@@Glacier36 Witton: "So you mean someone got the ax for CorSec? About time if you ask me. Just wish it would actually make up for losses on the ground. Things have been kinda rough around here since the CorSec offensive started. The Liberation had a desperate escape at Vas, that large training base not that far from Bastion, not too long ago. Don't know if you heard about it. An imperial task force slipped deep behind our lines and hit us. It was a slaughter, nearly every recruit, both in freighter craft and on the ground was lost. Rogue Squadron alone lost three members to a Defender squadron while two more were shot down, including Janson, and survived. We made'em pay by taking out five of them but it still doesn't bring back our fallen. One of your Agent buddies, Bridger, was tasked with finding out how they managed to break through. So far we only know the name of the group and that squadron, Task Force Star and Saber squadron. Apparently the leaders served with Thrawn before the victory at Lothal. They're part of the Eleventh Fleet based on Yaga Minor. An Admiral Faro and Commodore Star in command. The defender leader is a commander called Barrick. I'll tell you what, those Defenders they flew were TOUGH beasts to take down. Their shields could tank a proton torpedo and their speed and firepower were unmatched. Our shields barely mattered, if it wasn't for Kylah's upgrades I wouldn't be sitting here right now. Janson and I convinced Shack to provide her with the resources and manpower to upgrade all of Rogue Squadron the same way. Next time it'll be a lot more even and it'll be me in command of the Rogues. Rogue Squadron's "flow", as Janson put it, hasn't been the same since Wedge was captured and Janson decided that a shake up in command would be best for everyone so we switched ranks. It's seemed to work. The Imps were ultimately after the Liberation and Saul's girlfriend, Tanya. She's a big deal back on Tanarith I guess and the troopers were Tanarithians. Her brother, a man named a Lucius Eiolig, real nasty individual, led the assult on the ground. They played a heavy price but it wasn't enough. Commanders Log: Commander Rylan “Saber 1” Brask. Alliance Fighter Squadron Lead [X-Wing Squadron: Callsign - Saber] Well let me tell you, flying with a prosthetic arm is kind of strange. I mean sure they have haptic systems in it so I can still sort of “feel” stuff but it's not really the same. As for how I lost it, well me and Commander Bogre of Rogue Squadron were assigned a special mission. A heist if you will. We were sent to an Imperial Academy/base to steal a shuttle. There was a storm in the area which would’ve provided perfect cover for our escape. It should’ve been an easy mission in and out. “Should’ve” being the key word. As we made a pass over the base, one of our engines got shot out and we crashed in the valley. We made a break for the tower with our target on it but I got rather banged up on the way there and that’s putting it lightly. The amount of shrapnel in my by all rights should’ve killed me but yet here I am. I woke up a day later very sore and missing an arm. I just can’t seem to keep myself from getting hurt, Kayla’s gonna want blood when she finds out, I don’t know if I’m more scared for Witt or myself. Enough about me I’ve got news to give. We finally destroyed the flagship of the Suns fleet in the south giving us some breathing room. When that was announced on The Liberation I tell you the whole ship shook from the cheers. There have also been numerous skirmishes on Eriadu but we finally have control over the planet. Now if we could retake all our lost territory we’d be sitting pretty. On the CorSec front, our sieges may finally be coming to an end. Seems with the arrival of our new flagship, Home One, the tide drastically turned in our favor. The Admiral even requested Rogue and Saber Squadrons to help lead the fighter squadrons against the remaining CorSec defense forces. I’ll tell you what, those CorSec pilots are nothing to scoff at. For being Corporate entities they sure know how to put up a good fight. But they didn’t have much else to defend their worlds with, in space at least. Now all orbits are secure and the planets are ready for planetary invasions. Finally, I’m getting tired of having to be stuck in this sector. Commander Brask, Out. [END OF LOG]

Knowing this now, I promise I will do everything in my power to come back to you but you need to know that anytime I go up there, there’s always a risk.” (Rylan digs something out of a pocket in his jacket.) Kayla: “Wait what are you…?” (Rylan holds out the ring to Kayla.) Rylan: “I’ve decided I’m done waiting. I might not be around to do this at the end of the war so I’m doing it now. I meant to do it when you got back but then we started fighting and well, you know.” (Rylan slips the ring onto Kayla’s finger.) Kayla: “Well, I’ll see you later. In my opinion the Bal-tok gunships are highly effective anti-fighter pickets for the Rebel Aliance. They both mince fighters on their own, and apply a debuff that makes it easier for your own fighters to join in the mincing in big fuzzballs. It's no lancer, but they also take very little pop-cap, and come in squads of 2 for very little pop-cap. Other than that the Rebels are quite lacking in anti-figter apart from their own fighters. The CR-90 and DP-20 are both decent as well (even if the latter is classified as a dedicated hunter, it's arguably more of a screener than the CR-90 is). Bulk Cruisers and their carrier refits also have pretty good point defence, but not really effective for their pop cap I find.

I like his runs at this game but I must admit his lack of awareness and usage of production planets with big advantages urks me a lot. We need ground troops. Kamino makes good ground troops for cheap, then you also have the home planet of saw guerrerra which gives a discount on infantry due to saw's legacy passive. You combine that with the liberation and maybe a production warehouse on the surface which buffs your production speed by 50%. Damn near instant instant infantry.

To answer a question from you last video, Raxus Prime is probably what's giving you salvage bonuses. It's mostly a BS mechanic, if they do certain corruptions it's higher. For your fighter battles 3-4 of those Dornean gunships would help your fighters a lot. Neutron bulk cruisers have something like 8 PD. Their fighters will always go after yours, which means if you linger the fighters behind your fleet (I know I know it sounds bad) but you can leave anti-fighter ships in the back along with your fighters and you will own the skies for your bombers to unleash hellish damage. Jamming will stop the enemy bombers from doing much on the initial then they can be eaten along with the enemy fighters.

Either he was ordered to kill the crown prince and do all the shit he did by Palpatine or, as the Imperials think, it was Nightswan, the old one. In other news, things are finally picking up in terms of action. All of the Corporate Sector's important systems are blockaded, the Black Sun luchrehulk was destroyed at the Ring of Kafreene, an Imperial fleet that took Rakata Prime was deatroyed by a return fleet, and Eriadu has been retaken, finally. In more unfortunate news, the Wheel was retaken by Black Sun forces. Robyn reportes that he, my mother, and siblings retreated to Jabiim with their ships. Meanwhile, my boys are doing well, Talion and the others have been keeping them drilled and in line, and Asura's boys are far more professional and have started getting their new uniforms. Thats all for now, I've got to find Witton and Rylan, Nartha out. [End Log]

The political situation for the 293rd is too hot for them to go back to serving alongside imperials. For now they're probably serving as part of the garrison in Tor Ulthrod. Fighting and killing is one thing, but to enjoy it, to make sport out of it, is sick. Knew a few people like that growing up on my homeworld. Fought alongside them with Nox when we were kids for longer than we'd of liked. Those people rarely ever took prisoners and when they did it was only ever for "sport". They'd take and bury prisoners up to their necks in the dirt and use their heads as target practice for the new recruits. Since so many were bad shots it was almost never quick for them. We learned quickly how to shoot so we could ease their pain. They also used flamethrowers to scar others so bad that they couldn't be helped and tied them still alive to trees for their buddies to find. And you don't even want to know what they did to those they wanted information from. They got really "creative" one time with a major and his men when command forced them to take prisoners. It was General Kota who came along and put a stop to that. So you'll forgive me if I don't share your opinion on men like him. He may not be quite as sadistic but it's hardly the point. To enjoy the suffering of your enemies like he does is still wrong." How those two groups of Z-95s got there I have no idea. It all might be a bug but in the future you should experiment with trying to place covert units on the surface of an invasion target before the battle. I don't think you had a pathfinder set so your stuff was spread out but that doesn't explain why you had immediate control of the northwest landing zone.

I would love to see a series of Empire At War with that bone Halo mod.

Shack, I might recommend investing more into MC60’s, because they seem like a solid, cheaper alternative to your artillery capital ships. Instead of investing so much into artillery capital ships, you can invest more into artillery frigates. They may also eat up less fleet cap, but I don’t have those numbers off the top of my head.

Ground attack U-Wings with their ion cannons should be the bane of IG-88 and CorSec.

In tue fight where the pirates helped you kill an ISD you could have hidden a fighter group in the asteroids and had them follow you in to the field

They do have decent picket ships. The nebulon-b has the same jamming ability as the liberator. You can probably get one neb and a cr90/dp20 for one liberator. Liberator's aren't great carriers, they eat up cap, they're expensive, and are vulnerable to capital ships

The spy should work like corruption. Its used up, but it lasts until action is taken to get rid of him.

Wish we could see more modified ships. Like a carrier Pelta like in Rebels or a heavy flak Correlian Corvette.

Should be able to refit the liberation to trade it's z95's for x wings or b wings. Just make it a better carrier for late game.
