Just a reminder, Kuat is, in fact, a shipyard. It would be super convenient to, you know, build ships there. It would take a whole lot less time to deploy to the front because it basically IS the front, and it needs ships around for protection right now anyway.

Hr really really has a struggle understanding such things. Me, when I play, I always ask myself, how do I hurt themmmost, how do they hurt me most, what do I know and how to find out more, supply lines and how to improve them, and a way to improve morale if applicable. Everything else is secondary to those concerns.

Yeah, he can build ship's at Kuat you are right. But if Kuat gets attacked, and the orbit falls, then all of that money he invested into it is lost. Personally, I think it's better to build them behind the front lines where they're relatively protected from attack, but not far enough away where it would take ages to get up to the front.

Commander's Log Surface of Adumar Week 358 [Begin Log] Well, the last few weeks have seen fires erupting across the frontlines. For starters, there have been raids by the Imperials from Ithor to Carida to Mykyr. Some are saying it's Shack's Imperial brother, Shed I think. Either way, he sent a bunch of fleets against the Mid-Rim Fleet. Ithor took an assault by the Imperial army. Casualties for the defenders were heavy, but they held the line, the artillery won the day. Meanwhile, Ithor and Mykyr were back and forth with Imperial fleets. A bunch of Imperial warships were destroyed at Mykyr by the Central Fleet, and the rest were chased from Ithor to them by the Taris Group. In worse news, the Suns launched an attack on Ord Ibanna. The biggest Tibanna gas refineries in the galaxy, now nothing but scrap. It's gonna take at least a week for the new plants to come online. The Suns were properly punished, but now the Suns that are left have pissed us off. As a form of reprisal against the attack on Ord Ibanna, Adumar is now a Rebel system. Kota and Moxly led the main group against the main Sun base. I took my men and had them occupy the capital the base sat on the outskirts of. Hundreds of pirates and thugs are being transported back to internment camps. Well, that's all for now, Tanya, Kylah, and my sister are down in the newly reopened bazaars. I think I might go down and join them. Nartha out. [End Log]

Captain’s Log #61. Greetings Commander. It seems I have a new order for more Corvettes. It seems the small northern black sun holdout was mostly fighters. That worries me to what has been produced on Fondor and Atzerri. We must tread lightly especially in light of the Imperial fleet and army that was over the eastern front. I suggest we invest into a northern fleet along with the construction of my frigates and Corvettes to use as regional fleets. I suggest we build more ground forces. I think we are growing a little thin. Mon Mothma is calling. I must be going. Admiral Pisces out.

Intercepted Report of Saber Tank Commander Voss: With all due respect, Colonel... Imperial Intelligence failed us on this one. With the high tempo of Rebellion attacks in other sectors, they said there was no way that the Rebels could have left any kind of substantial garrison behind them. "They're insurrectionists, they don't have that kind of capacity!" That sort of stuff. Pardon my language, sir but that was Bantha shit! *Static on the recording* You weren't there, sir. Layered defenses, manned turrets, turbolasers with artillery raining on our heads for every step we took. And that's not counting the mine fields. So many mines... Men were dying for every meter of ground we took. When I close my eyes I can still hear it, sir. The whistle of the shells coming in and the screams of my men dying. *More static. Subject is silent for ten minutes from resumption of clean recording* At the end, the fleet shelled our own position. We'd taken down the power plant, denying the rebels their shield generator and turbolaser towers. And they were still fighting us, making us work for every inch. Fighting was so bad that we were basically wrestling in the mud with them. No room to maneuver or secure favorable firing positions. Just a nightmarish grind and then the warning came in. Incoming bombardment, danger close. You'd have thought the Rebels would retreat then but no, no sir. They fought harder! I saw Rebel militants mobbing tanks to impede their evasive capabilities, grappling in the mud with our infantry support to ensure we couldn't get clear. And then the blasts came in. *Subject is silent for several minutes, recording resumes.* Of course I ordered a retreat at that point, sir. We couldn't win, all we would have done if we stayed was die with the rest. And they were still shelling us for the whole retreat. That was a nightmare no one could have expected. I will accept a Court Martial if that's Command's decision but sir, if I may speak plainly? Thank you... Command failed us, sir. The spooks over in Intelligence either didn't know or decided to not share the depth of defenses. I don't know why they sent us in anyway. But honestly? It felt like they sent us in to our deaths. I don't know what else to tell you, sir. But please, please don't send us in again. Report Ends

Admiral's Log Admiral Davon Cress, CO of MC-80 "Independence" - Class "Phoenix" Alliance Northern Fleet I don't think I can even begin to catch up with everything that's been going on around here. From the whole Facility K raid to the Battle of Adumar. I've gotta tell ya, you can barely get used to the week-by-week chaos. It's almost a tradition for any alliance commander to have to sit through 8 hours total of repeated briefing after briefing. Well, so long as it keeps your mind sharp I suppose. Besides, I can use C9 and the Razgriz as a makeshift databank if need be. A few days after the Facility K raid, Kota and Luke arrived over here over Adumar. The Phoenix became the staging ground for our ground forces ready to deploy. I'm gonna say this here and now, the Phoenix surprisingly has more space than you think. It's a massive ship, yes, but the interior is way more expansive than the outside. Enough space for Kota's force. Kota's initial landings using the dropships assigned to his unit were met with a high degree of resistance. Enemy air support kept our heads down long enough for the Black Sun to suppress our marines. It didn't take long for our close air support, only two X-wings mind you, to clear the skies. We were contemplating whether or not we should send Rogue Squadron down, but since they've just come back from one hell of a mission, I figured I'd give them a break for the moment. Besides, our air support was effective enough to silence most of the Black Sun's vehicles. Saul's unit was paramount to the operation, working in tandem with the air unit to destroy key Black Sun holdouts. The most important of which was the administrative capital of Adumar. The lines finally went silent a few days ago. It's mostly a cleanup operation from here. Black Sun sympathizers are everywhere, especially in the northern reaches of the galaxy. The southern front has been lit ablaze. While Admiral Carrick's fleet was still recovering over at Azameen station, a Black Sun breakout fleet managed to... well, break out. The Imperial world of Thyferra was suddenly retaken by the Black sun. A fleet consisting of mostly carriers would attack Alliance sensor relays all throughout the front. Carrick was in the dark until distress signals came from Ord Ibanna. The gas world, which had not seen any form of combat since a few weeks after the Battle of Yavin, would see some again. Alliance SOCOM thought the mere presence of having Carrick's fleet stationed so close would deter any future attacks. They were wrong. Carrick did chase them off, but the delay of the response? That costed us the valuable stations over that planet. Lando will be doubling Tibanna production as soon as he can to mitigate the deficit while the facilities over Ord Ibanna are rebuilt. Twenty five platoons. Twenty five. All of them are Imperial Army. Alongside AT-ATs, AT-STs, Sabers, and any piece of hardware the Imperials could muster. The Empire took the chance with Ithor, sending wave after wave of infantry. Alliance forces which were stationed on the planet since the Empire blockaded the world dug in well. Lines have been drawn, redrawn, and erased, until finally, the ground commander agreed on a flexible defense. Layers of defenses were built. Some of which such as the large turbolaser towers were already built long before in anticipation of an attack of this scale. When the attack came, it can only be described as an Army Trooper's worst nightmare. Those waves of infantry were subject to blaster fire, rocket artillery, proton artillery, mines, turrets, and anything and everything that can kill. The front turned elastic, then it snapped with the destruction of the power generator, forcing our troops to fall back to the last line of defense. An intercepted report from a saber tank commander perfectly describes the frontline. I don't want to say I relate to an imperial... but the level of trauma those guys, both rebel and imperial? Hell, I've got nightmares about Dathomir every other week. They'll... well, it'll be tougher for those who saw the frontline. Our forces were shattered by orbital bombardment, leaving very few survivors. The last of those still alive were the Miller Artillery Unit. Of the twenty five platoons of the main force that landed that day, only one alongside a few Saber tanks got away during the imperial retreat. Our forces were whittled down into just the artillery unit. Had the Empire pushed further, our base would've fallen. Lucky bastards. The Dandoran raid was successful. Facility K was destroyed after the core blew, rendering anything within five kilometers to dust. Unfortunately... Torres got away. I can't help but think of what he said. To order Base Delta Zero is uncommon. To order it on your own planet? That's when you know something's wrong. That mantra, the whole "For the good of the galaxy" schtick his crew repeated over the intercepted comms was something to note too. They seemed... loyal to an idea. Guess 692 days stranded in a giant metal wedge isn't good for one's mental fortitude. What concerns me the most is what he said before ordering Base Delta Zero. "Additional samples". Now, the shuttle carrying those "additional samples" was shot down by Wedge and Teavon, but what worries me the most isn't the shuttle, it's the fact that Torres said "additional". Based on the data Shira took, that same shuttle has been making round trips to the facility. It could only mean one thing. Torres has possession of the pathogen. By the force... I... I don't know if he's acting on on behalf of the empire or for his own agenda, but me, The Sabers, and Rogues all know what this pathogen is capable of. Dispersing the Blackwing virus on a populated planet could lead to catastrophe. Dispersing it on a major transportation hub? Force forbid, the galaxy at large may be at risk. The Tanager has retreated to the core worlds. We won't have enough forces to muster a spearhead attack to neutralize him, nor do we have enough stealth ships to hit him while in somewhere like Coruscant. In any case, we need to act swiftly and accordingly. High Command wants the pathogen and Torres neutralized, and so do I. For now though, with the resources we have at hand, an operation to strike against the Tanager right now is impossible. So far, there aren't any signs of the virus's appearance in any core world, nor are there any signs Torres plans on using it... thus far. Though, with such a weapon under his possession, I only fear for what may happen next. Only time will tell. Cress, signing off.

You have fleets and troops spread all over the place randomly Shack! Hard to gage your strength when safe planets have fleets over them or full stacks of ground units! Get your groups together so you can stop spending money on replacements you already have built :P The only thing I have found as the Rebels to counter Empire when they are heavy carriers fighting is it just spam AWings. Most, if not all, of my fleets towards the ends of my Rebel plays are 3-4 Capital ships and STACKS of Awings/Xwings May not be the best stack counter but the fighter clusterballs are awesome On a side note can you ask Mr. President to do something with the Hutts/Corsec/Hapans in the "From The Ground Up" mode? Those factions have no tech ups and start with best units and just wipe the Empire/Black Sun/Rebels from the maps cause they can make best items for their factions right off the bat. Maybe make those units cost 4-5 times as much for the AI so that way they are producing at the same pace as the other factions and not just swamping them in the first couple of minutes!

Rebel Diaries 61 - The north is secure with Adumar's capture. The Black Sun was relatively well dug in, but they'd also seemed to have angered the locals and I could sense them actually fighting the Black Sun as our forces landed. Though, some of it might also be the fact that the Black Sun's scum and villainy seem to love drinks more than is safe... and I'll privately admit that even I am not immune to the intoxication of liquor. That wasn't a high point for me when Galen found me... but it did get me back on path and to the Alliance, so there is always that. And in some ways, the young Skywalker kid has a lot of the same potential. He's stronger in the force than Galen, if not as well trained for combat as Galen was... but there is potential there. And while he's a bit too idealistic for my tastes, he's at least respectful... though, some Black Sun assassin droid, which we missed in the capture of Adumar managed to wound him... right now we have him in a Bacta Tank, and hopefully it'll heal... but after the fighting on Adumar, I can't say how good it is. Though, the success in the north doesn't fully mean that the Black Sun is out of the fight yet. They still have southern holdings, and recently lashed out at the Empire on Thyferra and took it... which changes everything regarding the next moves as part of Operation Python. As their attack in the south also took them into the areas where they would not have to launch ground invasions. And Calrissian... who should be at least coordinating our forces in the southwest seemed to have lost the fleet we had south of Thyferra and thus enabled the Black Sun to make that advance. Further proof that businessmen and smugglers have no business running military and political affairs... and maybe why military men and politicians shouldn't be in business affairs... But, once the Southern Fleet was found and reinforced, they did retake some of the ground lost... and with the Black Sun's advance, I'd advise pushing them back to Fondor. I've seen the earlier reports on pushing for Jakku and finishing off the Empire there... and at the time I would have agreed, but a lot of that would have been relying on the Empire to HOLD Thyferra. Now, things have changed. First, retake the Ring of Kafrene, second take Thyferra, and third take Atzerri. That will isolate Fondor... which will require a major ground effort. I'd advise the trainers on Hoth get to work on infantry of all kinds, along with the other industrial words preparing artillery and heavy armor. The ground on these planets will be tough to take, and they'll be needed for when Fondor and Jakku are to be taken as part of Operation Python. Trust me... they'll be needed in both the short and long term. Particularly as the Empire has not been inactive. They launched a ground attack on Ithor, which they'd taken the orbit of recently... and while they had orbital support, they still failed. The turbolasers, for a time, and our artillery battered at both their infantry and walkers. Reports indicate that they're still burying the dead Imperials... or at least the ones that weren't incinerated by artillery rounds. And coming off this debacle, the Empire sent their main battle fleet out to Myrkr, and within range of the Bulwark's fleet over Carida. While the ground attack on Carida has been delayed, the fleet did counterattack the Imperials, and while they lost a Mon Calamari Justice type cruiser, the fleet took out a carrier and an escort ship and then an Imperial Star Destroyer.... and with their carrier gone, the Bulwark was getting aid from our fighters and that assured the destruction of the remaining Imperial ships. So, they fled... and regardless of the losses, the Empire's were heavier. The move is odd... To a degree it is similar to what has often gotten Shack to make panicked decisions. Though, for all his faults that some grumble on... Shack has always had a general idea on what to do with the conflict... and a method on what to do. The Imperial move has no rhyme or purpose simply beyond causing pain. And if Vader or the Emperor were present, I'd say that's all their thing. The Sith seem to just love inflicting pain... even on themselves. In this, it may be Shed running the Empire's main strategy... and if so... I pity the Empire. Shed was an idiot back in the days of the Republic and largely had his brother or Tarkin pull him out of the arrogant mistakes that were made. I'm not sure on how Shack and Shed are brothers... as they would have different surnames... maybe they come from a world where surnames don't matter. I never asked... But if it's true and Shed is controlling the Empire's strategy, we have hope. As Shed will surely make some stupid gamble that wastes his forces. All we need to do now is take Carida and put a little squeeze on the Empire, and we may get it. - General Rahm Kota.

Commanders Log: Commander Rylan “Saber 1” Brask. Alliance Fighter Squadron Lead [X-Wing Squadron: Callsign - Saber] Another month of down time for us. More fires started in the Mid-rim and in Hoth space. I cannot emphasize how badly we need to finish up in the outer rim and get back to the main fight. Mykyr and Ithor have both been hit hard by Imperial forces. Word is there's a new Admiral commanding operations in the Mid-rim. Whoever he is, he's good. His fleet is hard to pin down and when they hit, they hit hard. Then there's our tibanna gas facilities over Ord Ibanna being completely destroyed. Something tells me this isn't a coincidence. My time as a pirate taught me one thing, everyone has a price and the Empire has deep pockets. Back in the outer rim, Adumar is ours. General Kota along with Commanders Moxley and Nartha leading the ground troops. While that was happening, Witton and another Rogue, Shira infiltrated an Imperial Bioweapons facility. We went in looking for any information on the bioweapons stored there and to destroy the facility and everything inside. Plans changed when Witton found out that a bunch of prisoners were being kept as test subjects. We decided to free the prisoners, but we had been made. This resulted in a very quick escape where the Imperials unleashed all the infected to deter us. Guess that ruins the “No leaks” record they had. Not like there's any facility left, after the reactor we blew up demolished the whole facility. In personal news, Joules has taken her leave and gone to the Jedi Temple on Ilum. Surprisingly, Dak decided to go with her. Hope she won't be gone long but I do know she’ll be missed. Especially by Rev. That’s all I’ve got. Commander Brask, Out. [END OF LOG]

Shack, I recommend using capital ships like dauntlesses and mc80 libertys (i.e. brawlers) with the SSD. While the SSD is *good*, it's not "kill 4 ISDs with almost no anti-capital support" good (the mc80 justices don't count, those are glorified battle carriers/support ships with very little actual firepower). Giving it some big guns to supplement the role it plays would really help that fleet. Additionally, attaching like 5 mc30s would be hilarious, you could have a torpedo attack squadron taking down ISDs while the SSD and mc80s nail them from afar.

From Carida to Ithor the imps have been attacking and pushing us back. Fight after fight, big and small has caused us to cancel current planned offensives to focus on holding the line. What's more is that the Imperial fleet has by been extremely hard to pin down. Even a planned pincer attack at Myrkr was unsuccessful in trapping them. The Black Sun have also taken advantage of the situation and have caused severe damage to our economic base in the galactic southwest. Our facilities at Ord Ibanna have been completely destroyed and a shortage of Tibanna gas has already hit the fleet. Administrator Lando has doubled production at Bespin but it still won't be enough to support our large fleets. The timing is too perfect, I suspect that the rumors about a new commander are true and whoever he is has used the Black Sun to hit us where we would feel it most. We need to get out of the Outer-Rim and bring this fleet down hard on the Empire. Which, thankfully, should be soon now that we've taken Adumar. Kota, along with Commanders Moxly and Saul stormed the planet in force. While that was happening Rogue and Saber were sent on a secret mission to destroy an Imperial Bioweapons facility. Rylan, Shira Brie, and myself going under cover to infiltrate and secure all the information on the various projects being conducted there. Blackwing chief among them. At first it was going well, until we learned of the large contingent of prisoners being held as test subjects. After securing the information and rigging the base's power core to explode, we planned to stage a break out and used a commandeered AT-AT to blast our way out. The fight turned chaotic and in an act of desperation the imps, in all their wisdom, decided to release the infected Blackwing subjects to stop us. The fight became a mad dash to our waiting ship. The screaming hoard right behind us. Thankfully the Force was with us and we managed to save a decent portion of the prisoners. Leaving the base and surrounding area to be consumed in a massive fireball that incinerated everything, leaving no trace. I hope I never see those monsters again. Twice now is enough to last many lifetimes. I'm just glad we destroyed that nightmare house and all the horrors it contained. If they released them in conjunction with this current offensive, well, it's almost too horrible to consider. Rogue Squadron has averted a crisis before it could begin and for that we can rest easy, despite the fire raging in the Mid-Rim.

(With martial law having been lifted, the life in Adumar's capital has returned. Tanya, Kylah, Octavia, and Kira all make their way through the main bazaar. Tanya and Kira both carry bags over their shoulders as the four of them look at shops full of curios and stands with treats. A pair of Blood Embers walk a short distance behind them.) Tanya: I'm telling you ladies, this was a great idea coming here. Kira: Amen to that. Oh Kylah, look at this. (She picks up a pair of nice earrings at a jewelry stand they pass.) These would look amazing on you. I bet Witton would think so too next time you and him go on a date. [Been a while since I brought up Kira, Saul's little half-sister from the Wheel.]

(Tanya is cut off as a lizard monkey runs past her, Octavia looks at it as it runs by, quickly running after it.) Tanya: Via, come back. (Octavia doesn't listen as she chases the lizard-monkey, her mom's voice lost in the din of the crowd. Kira looks between Octavia and Tanya, handing her own bag to one of the Blood Embers.) Kira: I'll go get her, sis. You just wait here. Via, wait up. Blood Ember 2: I'll go too. (Kira and the Blood Ember both follow after Octavia, asking around at passers-by. They eventually reach the edge of the bazaar. The Ember spies a teen boy petting the lizard monkey on his shoulder.) Kira: Hey, buddy. You see a girl run by here? Boy: Maybe? Ember: A toddler, about three, years and feet high, black hair, gray-green eyes? (The sound of a bottle rattling on the pavement catches the attention of the ladies. Looking around it, Kira and the Ember see a Falleen holding a stunned Octavia over her shoulder.) Kira: Let her go! (As Kira goes to grab Octavia, the Falleen points a pistol at her, stopping her dead in her tracks. As the Ember draws her own pistol, the Falleen stuns her too, the trooper dropping like a heap of bricks.) Falleen: Well kid, good on you. Two for one stunt? Payday's gonna be good for you. Boy(deadpan): Yeah. Yeah. Just get them both out of here before this trooper wakes up. (Back with Tanya and Kylah, the former looks back in the direction Kira and the first Ember had gone.) Tanya: They should've been back by now. Mara, go check on Vex, make sure she and the girls are alright. Mara: On it. (She heads off.) Tanya(to Kylah): I just hope nothing is wrong. [Dah dah. Yeah, Saul and his boys are probably doing good work hunting pirates, but given that Adumar's been Black Sun heartland since the start of the game, they'll have infested Adumar like a plague. I'm also basing the idea I have for the plot off a half dozen different things.]

Ive noticed you build full stacks to resupply an army or fleets and cometely forget about it and do it again first thing next episode on a new planet. I tend to play Empire but this may help in the future if interested: Leader led sector fleets w designated ground force, w dedicated missions, easy to find easy to remember. I tend to Centralize Thrawn around the Yaga Minor area campaigning NE // Ozzel around Eriadu campaigning SE or SW // Daala around Fondor to help Ozzel then campaign E // The Emperor and Vader have their own fleets to counter attack or take fortress worlds. Once a sector is under complete control move hero led fleets to front lines, replaced by generic defense fleets for reinforcement against doom stacks. Each sector will only have 1-3 planets w applicable bonuses for designated research, troop, vehicle, and ship production for quick resupply/reinforcement access. This helps me remember what ea fleet was doing when I come back and where to find cheap-bonus production thanks to permanently designated and defended planets. Also STOP building ship, troop, and vehicle production on literally every planet, especially early to mid game. Youre wasting a ton of time and income; especially when you dont have the fleet or capability to hold the planets you take. 15k by week 15 is easily achievable (as empire at least). As Empire I have to take time to build a defense to avoid raids behind my lines but its still a good idea to move w purpose to avoid Ithor. Ithor alone has cost you millions of lives and countless credits at this point lol. It doesnt seem to be too detrimental on the regular difficulty but I hope this helps in future campaigns!! GGs and GL, loving the chaos all the same; as always.

I have noticed the ISDs love getting in a line and sitting there comfortably firing turbolasers from their ideal arc at you. as you saw at Myrkr, this can threaten any ship or fleet. I think to beat them, you gotta outmanouver them. Either charge past them and (picture this in a lando carlissian voice) engage those star destroyers at point blank range or hyperspace behind them/to their side and fight the battle from there or try to somehow split them up into smaller groups. Either way the best thing would probably be brawlers like the dauntless or the shield leech mc80 along with a group of mc30c's. Maybe give them one of the independences to give them fire support and eat damage or just spam carriers.

I have tips for you to help: 1. When you take Carida, win the space over planet Corulag and asteroids Bilbringi and also dispatch a fleet to a planet Jedha. That way you chokepoint the empire in the north and they woldn't be able to do anything. 2. As for black sun, kick them straight to Thyferra and sit on it, it will immobilize them temporarly, giving you time to preper and finally finishing them off. 3. After that, please YOU NEED organize your planets. You have a lot of worldz not fully upgraded and protected. Enemy special forces would be enough to take a planet, especelly money and technology, you have enough of production planets to not care for them. If you do all of this you'l be able to completely surround you're enemys. 4. As for fights, I saw them and I have to say this. THERES NO EASY WAY. Each planet is fortyfied, bouth on surface and in space. You'l have to conquer one world after the other, while maintaining the blockaids. You woldn't be able to alfastrike, because enemy has a counters now. 5. (This part is on decision) either you atack, destroy one ISD and run away whith minimal casualty. Or you attack whith evrything you got and sacrifice something.

Just a humble military advisor here, but clearly the Empire is countering on the eastern front with that ISD battle group. And that is fine because you can hold that as the main line for the galactic conquest. You have supporting shipyards in the east (Mon Cala, etc.) that can keep support and that fight engaged. The resurgence of the Black Sun in the south is a problem. That is your resources and income. Luckily you have a "patrol fleet" (I mean it's a good mixed fleet, but you have been using it defensively, not offensively lately) that can combat them (like you did in this episode) but in the long term, the build up on Thyferra is gonna push into the unguarded Tibana mining areas. I suggest using the northern corridors to bring forces around back to Bespin (solidify your orbital defenses over the back line (Jedha, etc) and overcome the last of the Black Sun down there. We can see that the Imperials are weak in that area with their losses to the Black Sun and bolstering the lines back there can lead to a significant push into the core from the southwest.

Commander, the fleets have cleared the nothern aproaches to the core. The east is being skirmished betweeen our fleets and the enemies. The south has oppertunity. The black sun remnants have raided the imperial lines to establish a foothold, meaning their defences in soace and ground might not be as dug in as the imperial core sectors. A major offensive of three armies on all fronts will lead to a breakthrough at one if not two places. The empire has interior lines and can reinforce faster than us, but with enough pressure, they will break, and the galaxy can know peace again. internal report from alliance strategy division at Azzameen station.

@@canadiangoose9086 I'm also not a modder, but I do know programming. Given EaW wasn't originally designed with mods in mind a direct "change allegiance" of the same unit might not be possible, but I do know it is possible to gain or permanently lose hero units, so a workaround could be having 2 versions of the same hero but with a different allegiance, 1 of which starts the game deactivated and hidden. An event could then activate the deactivated hero, whilst permanently deactivating (essentially 'killing') the original, creating the effect of the same unit switching sides. We do also know that AotR's missions allow you to gain units that aren't normally available to your faction. So presumably whatever is used for mission rewards could be used for this also.
