@@elokibu Well, the anime did the sword slash effects long lasting and "in your face" so retaining that for the game is a way to honor the animated series. Honestly, in my opinion, its the best way to do it. Now, if it was a game with a completely original concept/aesthetic despite similarities to SAO... then I'd agree with you.

If I created such a game, I'd make it so that we live in in cyberspace even if our bodies in the real world cease functioning. I mean, if the AI "daughter" of Kirito and Asuna can "live" in the real world with AR... why can't our virtual selves? If only we got to experience the entirety of the SAO story(Manga, I suppose, but with the voice cast from the anime(hopefully)) in a game like this, but not as Kirito. I'd much rather create my own character instead of getting forced to be Kirito like literally every SAO game in existence. Frankly, this is the best SAO game I've ever seen footage of.
