I was hoping for a 3.5inch blade on the Yonder - that would be a great worker and the small-large combo would cover the market. My Sentinel Strike 2.0 is arriving tomorrow !!. What I want to know is will the blades swop out to the original ones. I already have 2 different versions of the original and if I can just swop the blades around, there are so many colour, blade shape, finish, handle and backstrap combos to be had... Just saw the yonder last night and really like it. Isn't it civivi's first crossbar lock🤔 if I'm correct. It's my blade style and I definitely need a silver blade model. 😊 Well I don't need it but I want it 😁 the sentinel is nice too. I like the drop point blade in the sentinel the best. The baby banter fixed blade would be a great neck knife. 👍Thanks Beez 😊

Beez the purpose of the spine whack imitates the force of pushing the tip into the blade of something that very hard, which causes the blade to collapse closed. Also, if you were to try to jam the knife into something hard in the reverse grip with the blade up.Would have the same effect as the spine whack

I have 3 Civivi and have wanted the Sentinel but was not crazy about the blade shape, until NOW! Am definitely moving this model up my wish list, adding the Yonder as well. I usually carry two knives at work, one larger and one smaller and these two would be ideal for me. My Vision FG with Damascus blade is still my favorite to carry when not at work. What's a good sharpening angle for Nitro-V?

15 degrees per side is amazing on Nitro-v. It's tough enough and has great edge stability for it and it will cut very good. It's easy to strop back and the angle is low enough to put a micro bevel on when it gets dull to get more life out of the edge. I don't know what knife your sharpening but my Nitro-v blade is the DCC little rascal and the 15 dps works best imo.

@@chriswebb3018 It's a Vosteed Valkyrie. I believe they come with 21 degree and 24 degree. I noticed it was a really hard metal compared to my other knives. I appreciate the tips. I'm just starting to learn about the different alloys used in modern pocket knives as I'm learning to freehand sharpen.
