Everyone is talking about how great Kipchoge was and no doubt hes the GOAT of distance running, but mad respect for Abate and Korir and all those who completed the marathon, seeing vids like this inspires me to keep going. In fact, i just woke up at 4:50AM today to go for a 10km run in preperation of my first marathon coming up at the end of this year and also started my own YT channel to share my own passion for sports and fitness 🔥

To put it into perspective: about 80k€ is what soccer players in Germany get for reaching the quarter finals of the world championship. Winning the championship is awarded with 350k€. This is on top of their salaries in their respective leagues (on average 350k€/y, obviously with high upswings for the stars). I'm sure Eliud is worth a lot to Nike, but some soccer players will easily compete in terms of sponsoring. 7,06m people are registered in German soccer clubs, 6,34m people run regularly in either way (track, jogging, trail...).
