Gosh, a real professional. She prepared and delivered her speech from memory. I've seen some of her outtakes and she's stays in character until the director says cut.

Such a great moment in theatre. Madeline had been treated very badly years earlier by Broadway legends & lost her 1st Broadway starring role as a result. That years later she found a play & role that put her back on top is beautiful, that the award was presented by her old friend Lily was the icing on the gravy. Sisters were doin' it for themselves!

Madeline was a true comedic and musical genius. Her hilarious roles in Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles were among the best ever! I was fortunate enough to be in the audience of the Tonight Show on 9/22/76 and got to see Johnny Carson interview her. I knew I was watching a pair of entertainment giants! Talk about people at the top of their craft. She was so funny. They don't make them like her anymore.

I've always been a very huge fan of Madeline Kahn. She was a great and wonderful talent to this world.I love and have seen all of her movies from her first one,"What's Up Doc"(1972),all the way to her final film that she made before she died on Dec 3,1999,"Judy Berlin".She truly deserved this Tony Award for her role in "The Sisters Rosezweig".She didn't just play the role of Georgous Teitelbaum, she was Georgous Teitelbaum.I'm sure the Playwrighter Wendy Wesserstein, who wrote it,was proud of her performance,I know I was. They'll never ever be another one like her.May God rest her precious soul.Excited to see you one day in Heaven.Forever Madeline.

One of the greatest female comics of this generation, or any generation. If Madeline lived in the 30's, she would have given Carole Lombard a run for her money. It's still amazing to think she is no longer with us. And to think that Natasha Richardson has passed on too---(sigh)....The heavens must be the best and funniest place imaginable!

I hate when they start playing the winner off. 30 seconds is not long enough to make a speech. With the time they waste with useless banter between presenters and hosts they could find the time for the winners to have their say. It's so shameful how they treat the winners by cutting them off with music.
