There are many tyre- speed & rpm related sensors required in AWD Car to function properly and that's why AWD Comes only with Automatic transmission. AWD model has less power to weight ratio than its FWD counterpart because it's heavier by 83Kgs... FWD Power to weight ratio :- 105.71Hp/tonne AWD power to weight ratio:- 98.93Hp/tonne. It's a FWD biased AWD system (60:40), System decides whether to distribute power to all 4 wheels or not in case to prevent traction/grip loss over slippery/tricky/off the road surface, it de-activates after 80kmph. Out of the 450Nms, the rear axle will get a maximum of 180Nms from which it'll be further divided for each of the wheels. Pros:- Improves Handling and Driving Dynamics Reduces the chances of under steer Performs better off the road when compared to a FWD/RWD, system will make sure that the car doesn't get stuck anywhere. Won't wheelspin unnecessarily as torque will be distributed to all 4 wheels. Prevents traction/grip loss Prevents Torque Steer Cons:- Less Fuel Efficient (-1/1.5km/l) Its maintenance (It ain't a con tho) Makes the car heavier (+83kgs for XUV 7OO) Won't make sense especially in India if you are only going to drive in city and highways, the FWD model will be more than adequate even for light off roading / trails.

It is 1.4 lacs more costly in ax7 and 1.15 lacs in ax7L Suppose you take car on hills (this is 5% situations rest 95% to be driven on normal roads only) since its a very heavy car requires lot of traction eg ladakh, manali, auli , shimla etc (there can be snow sometimes). I mean we are taking diesel car so that we can go on long trips too!! I am not talking about off roading!! Will front wheel drive be sufficient for that???

@@Guptaabhaydr It mainly depends on the personal preference... As per your requirements the FWD variant will be enough even on hilly section/light off roading. When it comes to expeditions to terrains such as Leh, Ladakh especially during the peak of winter, a FWD would miserably fail. Assistance of an AWD system will improve its capabilities but you've got to be one step ahead and be prepared as it is not a full fledged offroader.

AWD is good but we should also know power reproduced by engine is same.. so it would get divided.. which is sometime usefull and sometime not much.. you might have seen 2 wheel drive powertrain overtaking quicker than AWD engaged.. thats because of divided power.. it is good to have if maintained properly.. because pwer transfer done from the engine to differential manually using components and essential oils etc.. what i feel is engine energy are wasted rotating differential even though AWD not engaged.. because powertrain is engaged digitally on switchh basis just to rotate at wheel level or making it free.. rather than putting more emphasis on powertrain we should focus on good grip tyres.. which is the only deciding factor in driving.. we often overlook... from my say.. all the power are waste if grip is not proper.. it would just spin the wheel without movement.. and if it happen.. car will start digging the place followed by chamber grounding.. if you compare AWD with FWD/RWD then 2 wheel drive would definitely upper hand on maintenance on aging /engine gets old... atleast after 4-5 years.. above are just the technical side.. looking many things in video it gives a good engagement on basis of interest and adventure.. so for stunts/show off/making videos/drag races/ off roading for social pleasure then its good.. but for normal users not very much usable most times. rather i recommend hiring complete offroader 4x4 shelf driven vehicle when required a fun for particular time.. for urban lifestyle, tough 2 wheel drive are more than capable for all needs.. its always good to have pen and paper method to decide any things... this way you would be able to completely match up with the requirements.. without any future regrets.. In This XUV7OO "ALL WHEEL DRIVE" AX7/AX7L Variants, Power distribution is 60:40 with Front:Rear wheels as given by Transmission Technology. We cannot change Power distribution in sensor enabled AWD Mode. if you go above 60kmph with active All Wheel Drive power transmission mode then and then it will auto-disengage to 2wd on this speed

Well explained. But you have option to switch - by default its 2 wheel drive. Car will have same power if you drive on 2 wheel drive. Same 140 speed it will touch as you said in 2WD.

Thank you very much Ninad ji. as per information shared by service centre by default it is ON which is dependent upon RPM . but if want to engage in less RPM then switch would enable it.. there was some clarity required so didn't added this, as have not tested this scenario so far. would do and share shortly sir. If you race throttle while launching AWD variant, the Sensors automatically activate all wheel power mode specially due to wheel spin. Which you cannot deactivate at all... But this All Wheel Drive automatically disengage too when your speed goes above 60-70kmph again by the sensors... And your switch option is only available in 4WD/4×4 Vehicles like fortuner, Gurkha, thar and jeep compass

@@ninad1201 booking to hui hai meri AX7L AWD.... lekin delivery ka pata nai h, If you hv "only soft-core offroading" on weekends, "ice-snow roads, Dessert sand dunes routes" then AWD is best.. Agar nai h to Front wheel drive 7OO manual-auto t. is good(even 2wd Tata Safari XZA+ looks & feels best than 7OO anytime) Me Safari lene wala tha lekin usme 4wd nai hai isliye "AWD" ki wajh se 7OO pr ja raha hu..

Won't awd give more stability in all conditions, especially when there is rain and water on the road? Also wheel rotation and alignment anyway needed for Fwd as well during servicing, right? Any idea why the option to switch off awd is not provided in any of these cars?

Switching off power giving to all 4 wheels is only provided in 4wd... Awd is only activate-deactivated by sensors..(if without sensors then it will become ez 4wd)

yes sir, i suggest go with AWD, as per feedback from my friends , mileage won't impact much but it will help in muddy, slippery roads. for hill FWD have enough power, but AWD will add more to ease of driving what i think..

Dear Sir, yes petrol have lesser pickup lag always than diesel due to fast throttle realization but high torque have compensated without throttle. xuv700 has 70kmph in 5.5 second which is similar.. Hope it helps ! StayTuned! 🤝👍

Wrong information you are giving I have AWD. It's giving 18 kms per liter average. And will work only if you switch on AWD button. I went to ladakh it's very useful

Thanks for sharing! i recently did Ladakh trip with FWD only, it returned 13.2 KMPL, detailed video would be coming shortly with all evidences.. as per my experience.. whatever mileage shown in MID is not actual, thats ideal condition if driven the same pattern for longer time, since our infra is dynamic.. it changes drastically with tank to tank..
