Rwd is technically superior on track but only if the driver has the confidence for example when awd corners it has under steer and you can get out of it with throttle but not as good as rwd cuz in rwd as soon as you under steer it’s just a matter of getting on the gas to get around the corner cleaner and faster it’s called a slip angle it’s really interesting and I don’t mean drifting just a little controlled angle to get the rear end to conform around the turn

The mechanical LSD in the RWD model is far better suited for a dry track environment and is why Nick had a much easier time rotating the car and pushing it harder in the corners. The torque vectoring diff in the AWD model really isn't tuned for a track environment and resulted in lower cornering speeds. However, in the real world most drivers appreciate the AWD model and it's versatility.

Nick here! the time difference between the two models is real as the more mechanical and lighter nature of the RWD model just gives far more front grip to work with on a dry track. I'm sure you paid less for your GT2 ? How many miles did you have when you're breaks started making noise? I also damaged my Lexus running over something on the freeway, but that car I totaled but insurance gave me 22,000and I bought my 4X4 Tocoma

The guy in the first couple minutes doesn't even know racing basics. Rear wheel drive won't push a car through a corner while AWD helps pull it around the corner, that's wrong. It's generally the complete opposite because AWD (and FWD) generally has a higher chance to understeer due to front wheelspin. That's racing basics 101 you learn within 1 day of racing or watching / learning racing, lol.

Sure you can. For RWD cars in the snow just have snow tires, all season tires, or all weather tires. Add some weight in trunk if necessary as well.

No offense, I like the video and all. But this test is completely unreliable. You cannot do one lap in any vehicle and expect to get an accurate track time. Do a best out of 3 AT LEAST and pull the average.

The whole production was very short notice. But, I totally agree with you. If we had the time to do three laps we would have. Unfortunately, we could only rent out the course for so long.

I've seen two of these on the roads and looks great but what I do notice is that Kia seems to have stolen that rear RS7 styling from Audi and this is what's attracting the people who are buying them that can't afford an RS7!
@passionstevenson24964 жыл бұрын
Hello, Peter KIA DID NOT steal anything, as much as people are reading about the STINGER, are they taking the time to see who DESIGN this vehicle. The DESIGNER came from the AUDI CORPORATION. Conflict of interest took place at the AUDI CORPORATION and that gentleman moved on. The other individual came from (BMW) who got fired. This disturb me when I read KIA stole from AUDI N BMW no that's not TRUE. These two individuals from AUDI N BMW was offered a FANTASTIC DEAL at KIA so with that said they put their heads together one came up with the DESIGN (Audi) the other came up with the performance (BMW). Who wouldn't bring their knowledge over with them to accomplish. That's why when u see the Logo of the E on some STINGERS it means ENGINEER OF ELLECENCE!!

AWD is for soccer moms who can’t drive. Everyone knows RWD will always outperform AWD. The issue is most people can’t handle a RWD car in extenuating conditions. Thus a AWD in sports cars was invented as a handicap / training wheels for inexperienced drivers. There are absolutely no practical benefits to AWD that can’t be compensated for by a seasoned RWD driver. Thus - if your a soccer mom who wants a sports car go ahead and get the AWD. If you understand how to drive your vehicle. Get the RWD. The only exception would really be with rear engine rwd PORSCHEs if you intend to daily drive a rear engine Porsche recommend the AWD Carerra 4s because 911s are a death trap in bad weather. they slip around uncontrollably in the rain🌧 this is typically not the case for many front engine sports cars. but the weight distribution of a Porsche which are traditionally (rear / mid) engine makes them ass end heavy. Easy to slide around in a turn or high torque = less traction scenario. Such as accelerating into the highway from a ramp. Most 911 drivers will always make sure they are the hottest thing coming into the highway every time so 80-90 mph is what you would expect a Porsche driver to merge into the highway at. Without 4wd you can either slow your rate of acceleration or your pretty much guaranteed to fishtail every time in a 911. This doesn’t apply to most Americans. Your not doing that in your cheap little Kia . So you shouldn’t need 4wd in the rain unless you intend on driving your Kia like a maniac. ....other than that AWD is only practical for some SUVs.

@@AlexM-fq5nb Same platform and chassis with a shorter wheelbase and trunk instead of hatch. Makes the G70 much lighter with the same 3.3T engine and 8spd auto. The G70 also has a slightly stiffer suspension.
