The love hate emotional roller coaster that is tornadoes. This setup is REALLY strong and when it works it works very well. But when the tornadoes don't want to cooperate, it's aggravating. All zephyr needed was a grouping tool that didn't ragdoll and I gave her exactly that. It's insane, but tornadoes still needs some work with the AI.

I doubt this will get nerfed. Zephyr is literally the most forgotten Warframe in the game. 7 people player her through out all platforms and only one of them saw this video.

Yeah them tornadoes be trippin' big time. Half the time you're aiming at a dude to start the Tornadoes from, you end up with tornadoes on the edges of the screen like "huh how did this happen?".

I appreciate people who make "outside the box" content rather than "meta". I feel like the Warframe hivemind only uses 1-2 frames and 1-2 weapons in the entire game. So when I see people using new ideas and new clever combos, I can respect that.

As a former zephyr main, now grendel main, I tried using similar tricks as well, I even tried stuff like the Ferrox's grouping mechanic here, which is a solid grouping tool as well. In any case, zeohyr has this one issue where if u increase her range, the more the tornadoes are spread on the map. The initial spawn radius for tornadoes is 15m if I'm not mistaken, so if you spread it further, it makes tornadoes even weaker. That's why I don't use grouping abilities with her, it sacrifices her damage in exchange for having a grouping ability. My advice is to just go for max eff and duration with 40% range. Then high strength if possible. This will allow you to use tornadows on enemies and one-shot them in a closed space. Them whenever you need to take down another group, press your 4 again, and etc. It's pretty effective in normal tilesets too and it helps her turbulence a lot. Although honestly nowadays I use aero vantage and aerodynamics and equip the prisma obex and float around while kicking 🐴 like a superhero. Oh btw if anyone has questions about either zephyr or grendel lemme know, my ign is HeroicDrop33807 on pc.

as a zephyr main: the only thing her 4 is good for (other than this apparently) is a little extra CC, but only when you don't need to CC any one thing in particular. In other words, it's pretty garbage and I hope she gets lots of love soon. I appreciate you showing her off, even if it's something janky lmao

I mean, I replaced them with nezah's fire Walker in a casual build. The worst part is he's half wrong saying the tracking is broken. It works. And that's bad. They get in the way of everything you're shooting at. The tracking is so slow and so bad they either miss the target, or by the time they actually make it the target is already dead. I honestly had to get up and test it in the hopes that it the tracking was entirely broken

Aiming the tornados works it's just really slow and only one of the tornados will follow your aim and you need to be aiming down sights for the tornado to follow

people forget how the 1 augment can make you do billion of damage and has infinite damage possibility like gara does, all you have to do is not touch the ground for too long

and like gara it's too complicated. gara needs to spam 3 different abilities for her damage to ramp up (as well as a super tight build because she need duration range efficiency and strength). zephyr need constant crazy movements. and they start slow, so in most high level missions (steel path), the mission will be over before you get your damages to a decent number). and in low level missions there are some more efficient solutions.

@@gildeddrake1479 If you're using Gara, you're probably using a stat stick in which you don't need positive strength at all. I currently only use Stretch for range and Streamline for efficiency which is good enough. Her 2 should only need to be cast once (twice for your sentinel), her 3 with the augment can get you all the energy you need when you want it (not affected by strength btw), and her 1 and 4 are the combo cast every 30 - 50 seconds depending on your duration (for reference, that's slightly shorter than Chroma's Vex Armor).

I mean....atleast Gara can use Combo multiplier. 12x combo, and a decent stat stick will kill Steal Path Grineer in 3-5 rotations of the combo. Still way to much effort for the DPS potential, but Gara has an actually useful kit to complement it, unlike Zephyr. Also not really comparable because Zephyr's expire in two seconds(unless you're bouncing around like an idoit), while Gara's expires in 20(where you can literally just exist without fear of losing it).

@@zecuse You probably want some positive strength just to get the 90% damage reduction for her 2nd but apart from that I agree. Shattered Lash scaling off of melee combo also helps a lot to make up for lower strength.

I don't have many Warframe slots, but I've kept Zephyr since she's one of the most fun frames to use. Now, I can use Zephyr and be effective!

I found in the tooltips for Zephyr that the Tornadoes can be directed to where you're aiming down sights. But otherwise, they're like mindless minions, going where you don't want them. HOwever, you could do a wall latch, and direct them as needed, assuming nothing is trying to shoot you down. Personally, I just use Amprex, you can arc it's lightning off the tornadoes, and basically damage/clear a few mobs.

@@KirillT14 from what I remember, Magnetize isn't that good of a grouping tool, like Ensnare, Larva or Vortex, or potentially a room sized Tornado.

As someone who played test the hell out of this. When an enemy is being touched by a tornado and then hit with an explosive, it makes the explosion count as two hits. So if an enemy is hit with eight of these tornadoes at once you shoot one explosive the enemy would have been hit nine times. Not to mention the tick damage from your elemental damage. Zephyrs tornadoes are one of the most underrated and the most overlooked ability in this game.

The tornados simply transfer damage that was done to them. In the case of an explosive weapon you've got the initial splash damage, and the subdivided splash damage. This effectively agrees with what you are saying, but the point is that each tornado only transfers their damage to what they are holding at the time. Namely, in that huge group it's likely only going to be 2-3 tornados influencing any one enemy at any one time. This is why something like Larva is better on paper, given that more enemies can be scooped up into a smaller area. That said, tornado isn't overlooked. It's something with huge potential, but bound to an AI that is stupid. That potential is therefore incapable of being realized. In essence, it's a nuclear bomb, that can only be activated on the 8th Wednesday of December. I say this to try and lighten the mood, but it's really a power with mechanical issues. The Funnel Clouds augment "fixes" the issue by doubling the number and upping the speed, but removes the CC. It's a textbook definition of landing on either side of good, and the "fix" to increase tornado size with airburst is completely insane. Note that I say this with Zephyr as my main. Only in the last two months have I made Zephyr Prime my most played frame...and that's nuts. I remember being unable to cast tornado without it being a Limbo level troll. I remember using her because her 1 prevented difficulties before bullet jumps were a thing. That said, she's never been given love by DE. This won't change things. It's not like this strategy works on anything but cannon fodder, and it doesn't fix the tornado AI from literally going off into nowhere chasing an enemy that must exist on another plane of reality. This is the same reason specters are insanely powerful, but not spammed or sought out. They're too dumb to use that power.

I always enjoyed using the Twin Basolk with the tornadoes. It basically just spreads the procs and only needs one tornado scale into absurdity. It still need at least on tornado to cooperate, but it does feel more consistent.

The whole 'aim to guide tornado' does work, but only on the singular tornado closest to whatever you aim at, and it doesn't move there very quickly either. With funnel clouds on it may not work at all, or just be less noticeable, but regardless it needs to be fixed.

Wanna know the sad part. They do. Big ones are just too slow and yeet enemies away so they constantly re-target, small ones are fast enough to do so but once you use aim control they spread all over the damn map as if you told them the place you want em has corona.

@@ANDELE3025 can confirm, simple fix would be have one static fixed big nado at target location, with or without funnel, and have additional nados spawn from that one (omni directional spread for 2 seconds before AI takes over the children?)

The basmu has electric projectiles with a heat explosion. Since you modded for viral the electric and heat stay separate. It's a great weapon with 3 solid status effects. That's why it was doing electric damage.

DE: fixed tornado having damage transferring properties. The vision that the team has for tornado is for it to be replaced in helminth. Since this does not align with our team's, vision, we have some fixing to do.

Good to know that Zephyr has a good AoE setup, even though it's inconsistent and needs you to use certain weapons, it actually makes the frame a lot better in my eyes so gonna try for sure!

Now, Zephyr has stationary tornadoes. It's very interesting for this strat. Personaly, i use : - Synoid simulor because he can give energy with his entropy effect. Status > magnetic, viral and heat. But i tested too quanta vandal which is equally destructive. - Zakti Prime that works very well. - Zaw with innate viral (plague keewar) and status chance + exodia force. For have tested, 2 of Khora is better than 2 of Nidus > better radius, can easely do HS and larva don't synergise well with her tornadoes (many times, ennemies are swung in all directions, even when I use augment of tornadoes). On the other hand, I replaced the 1 of zephyr and not its 2 because the latter allows to have a rather fast form of control (whether to regroup or disperse enemies). On the other hand maybe I'll test the combination of her 4 and her 1 with its augmentation mode which can also reach absurd impact damages in area (or slash). I have already reached the 80000+% bonus damage with the augmentation of its 1, on a 20 minutes mission.

Zephyr's tornadoes work better if you don't have stretch on because they can't wander off as far. I usually jump into the middle of a group of enemies and point my cross hairs straight down when spawning them, which usually groups them in a rough circle around where I'm standing.

Also tornadoes are BUGGED SINCE RELASE , if u are the client not the host tornadoes wont pick up the status from AOE weps.The aiming tornadoes does work but only on 1 tornado as the description said ( so it works but its just bad )

Also, once a tornado reaches the aim point, its aim control is "lost" (the controlled tornado rotates around the aimed zone in the nekros fear enemy ai pathing pattern of m/z zigzags, but never comes to the aimed point again) but no new tornado is picked up so you have to keep aim tapping to actually control any tornado. Whats worse is while on same elevation as the tornado/if you aint aiming down from above, it doesnt actually follow the crosshair but a position to the upper right of it, that follows map pathing from zephyr, which means you can send a tornado into a room above you on maps like mot instead of where you are aiming (i mean it kinda makes sense coding wise and since zephyrs intended playstyle is to stick in air it was probably overlooked during "rework"/the 1+2 fusion, but hell daz be buggy shit).

Synoid Simulor is nice for this. Orb explosion forces electric procs as well as high status chance for other things. I've modded it for Viral+Heat and it does tremendous damage when tornadoes converge. The electric status is really bonkers and explosion almost always crits with just Point Strike.

A thing about her tornadoes. I had 145% range and I had tornadoes spawning over 300m away on the plains whenever I was aiming at my feet.

Aiming at a tornado will control it but it only works for a single one at a time and if you don't continue to move where you're aiming to pull it then it will stop following towards where you are aiming. The tornado moves extremely slow so a lot of people also seem to think it doesn't follow at all.

Gas catchmoon works really good with this build. Corrosive catchmoon is also a really nice option, catchmoon synergize well with zephyr turbulence giving it a decent range, making him great for trash mob and using esnare/tornado combo for heavy unites Heavy attack redeemer showed good results. I think ogris is better but I migth go for catchmoon or redeemer against corpus or corrupt to keep primary slot free for miter

I went a slightly different route and replaced Tailwind with Petrify. Use Airburst to pull enemies together, Petrify them in place (increases damage taken, increases loot), then Tornado. Airburst doesn't group enemies as well as Ensnare obviously, but it does alright and I get more loot out of it.

Her tornados are only affected by range in initial cast range, it doesn't actually affect anything else

As far as I know the steering thing does work, you even did it in the video right at the end. It doesn't make *all* the tornadoes go to your cursor, it was always just the closest one to your cursor that would move towards it. So not very useful, but I don't think it's broken like you're saying.

I'm unsure if it works with the augment, but the aiming to move the tornados still works* *Only works while ADSing. Only one tornado will move. This tornado will follow what seems like regular AI pathing instead of just floating on over. It will resume it's own meandering the second you un-ADS. The tornado will move to the true position of your aim, meaning if you accidentally shift your aim a degree to the horizon, it will try to meet your demand leaving you staring at the ground to compensate.

I'd like to see a Zephyr rework that changes her in the following ways: Passive: floatiness 1: same as it is now 2: Zephyr creates a burst of wind around her. Tapping will push enemies away. Holding will pull enemies inside. 3: works the same but with a passive. While turbulence is active, shooting enemies has a chance of creating a funnel cloud. The funnel clouds work the same as they do now, but are stationary. 4: eye of the storm. Zephyr creates a flow of wind around her. This airflow is stationary. Anyone inside the airflow becomes floaty like Zephyr. Projectiles shot into the wall by enemies are redirected. Enemies that enter the area are ragdolled. If Zephyr shoots into the airflow, it damages anyone caught inside.

Turbulence gets worse with more range so look for good amount of range just enough to circle around you and you can actually make turbulence so big that enemies near can shoot through the turbulence shield

My dream for zephyr's 4th is for it to orbit around her and keep enemies within their range and not just throw them away. It would be nice to be able to charge into a room and pick up a bunch of enemies in the tornadoes around you so you can pick them off.

@@wittlekitty3174 If only DE used logic when balancing stuff. Remember Gara getting nerfed? They didn't nerf her infinite damage stacking or the massive nuke she can make. They nerfed her tankiness. Considering DE's mentality of "Only these specific frames are allowed to deal damage", I think it's likely that Zephyr will get nerfed, not Ensnare.

they should just make it so it spawns ontop of targets that are at a max of 20m away from you, make zephyr herself the point of origin for the tornados, also they should give them similar functions as the resonator from octavia, just like zipping back and forth, but like quickly(between you and enemies) -- not the snails' pace they move at now.

And hey, if you put the smite augment with turbulence augment on Zephyr, you can also Eidolon Hunt reeeally effectively with her, as she can increase the range of the ever popular redeemer aaaaand increase radiation damage with great results. Give it a try if you haven't already! For myself, it's really consistent

Also consider 134% range, you get basically invincible from bullets due to the range needed for turbulence, and you get a solid range on ensnare without overcapping the tornadoes

If you have trouble with tornado, dont put range mod on, instead just leave it at default, tornado spawn is clunky but it has a radius, this will help tweak the spawn into your favor

Yeah aweblades right. I use funnel clouds and I didn't even know they'd fuck off to another tile. Zephyr really, REALLY, needs a rework/tweak to her abilities when her deluxe comes out. I want the Birb to be a good frame.

thoughts on running negative duration (and cast speed) in non-boss encounters? As stupid as it sounds on zephyr because it messes up turbulence, it at least lets you recast tornadoes more often and in this way, lets you reposition them more often As an added bonus it lets you trigger ensnare's grouping component faster, so you spend less time casting skills and trying to micro tornadoes and more time actually killing things

you can already recast tornadoes without negative duration so I'm not sure what this will achieve? Even with the faster ensnare, nothing is stopping me from casting it on a different enemy.

Have you tried decreasing the range. I’ve noticed that the tornadoes seem to only spawn far away because range can be to high. It should decrease the chances of them going elsewhere. Downside being the snare will have less range

Range doesn't effect the pull and the funnel clouds don't pull at all, so range isn't an issue there... But yeah. The garbage spawn radius thing sucks. The only way for them to be good is to have their width increased by Range mods, even if at a reduced base range so it's not a bunch of wandering Vauban Flechettes with a ton of range or if they would pinball around. A rework of turbulence to create a large area around Zephyr that could, with the Funnel Clouds augment, cause the tornados to pinball around within its radius if cast with it active and gave allies increased speed and projectile speed while reducing projectile speed of enemies so the tornados could catch the shots instead as a form of defense to replace just almost never being hit by gunfire that feels a bit overly strong. Or they could make her tornados attracted to HER when she uses her 1 with them moving at the same speed as her towards her before breaking off into their groups or her Airburst could draw in her tornados rather than drawing in enemies (If you can even consider that pull an actual 'pull'). It would actually be nice to cast her 4 then tap the 2 to pull enemies in while the tornados quickly rush to the center before bouncing off into random directions. Could be an augment idea tbh.

Zephyr is really fun. If they buuf her to where she can do any type of real damage, and boost base duration of turbulence 5-7 secs... i might actually switch of nezha and limbo sometime.

For the first time in my 6 years on warframe I thought "oh zephyr isnt popular so I guess she's safe from a new!!!" But these comments tell a different story. Honestly hope they fix all the zephyr bugs and uselessness and just make the 4 cast where you aim cause with her deluxe coming out eventually I'd wanna give her more of a try

Hey so idk you've probably had this pointed out but why are you using a max fleeting expertise? Rank 4, fleeting with a rank 4 streamline gets you to max efficiency and you'll get a little more duration and a few more mod points.

well theres a build that you abuse the SnowGlobe Passive that when you cast it the globe will push all enimies out. When they hit a Wall they get 50% true damage at their HP. So the thing is : you group mobs, apply viral, Jump and press 3 = everything is dead.

Yet again, players find a good combo that could bring one of the most underused/forgotten/garbo frame back in the play and all we need is a little tweak from DE to tornadoes so they become consistent. DE: "BeTtER nErf MaRKed FoR DEatH"

@@Elli_PSO2 Because this is the same as with the Xoris nerf. Did we saw it from a mile away? Yes. Was it in any shape or form neccesary? Hell no. Tweaking it is fine but gutting it like the way they did is idiotic. Also your comment about using something. The only thing that tells me is that DE doesn't understand how to balance, only nerfs what's popular than call it a day. If you don't believe me just look at Octavia. She's the prime example for what I've said.

I thought the tornados were only controllable if u didn't use the mod. The 4 that originally spawn I mean, not the 12 mini funnels? And I think you have to aim at the tornado, to "grab" it, then it follows your reticle. When I first got zephyr prime, he was killing it, I loved him, but id hit a wall around lvl 80-100. Before the last 8-12 month changes.

Hey guys, we saw community feedback about a recent Zephyr synergy between tornadoes and ensnare. This was not our original vision for Zephyr, so after taking another look at her we've decided to literally remove her from the game. In our vision we hate her so much we wanted players to hate her too, but they just kept on enjoying something. So to fulfill our vision and give her a fair rework she is being completely removed. IMO they should remove airburst's mechanic of making the tornados better and then make airburst when casted while your tornados are out all your tornados spawn where airburst landed

The animation of the tornados could start shrinking and then disappear and then reappear where airburst landed over a course of like half a second to give it some feedback

I hate to be the one to break this to you but this is some sort of bug with Electric damage, try this combo out with just a regular stock braton with stormbringer and high voltage and you will encounter similar results damage wise. Don't expect this to last long.
