You've found the perfect match: display & battery; the ideal solution would be to mount the Pi side by side to the battery to lower the profile of the whole package (thus leaving a more natural cooling airflow), but anyways an excellent DIY RPi4 mini tablet !!
@Tom2112Tom4 жыл бұрын
I hope ELECROW does the same "upgrades" to their 7" display! The removable mounting tabs, the inset ports with specific adapters to plug in a Pi. I can't stand all the cables sticking out the side of their existing 7" model and old 5" model. That makes it very inconvenient to mount inside a case (or makes your case a lot larger than it needs to be). One last gripe about both: the resolution. Sure I can see a low res on a 5" display. But that 7" display needs to be at least 768 pixels tall. Most modern OS need that much height to properly show their windows, dialog boxes, etc. 600 pixels just doesn't cut it.

That looks nice. I have to say, I made a pseudo 1:1 cabinet so I could play both horizontal and vertical arcade games without physical rotation. It's "pseudo" because it really is a 43" display mounted vertically inside, but only a 2160 x 2160 square is visible. Anyhow, you could achieve same thing in a handheld with this Hyperpixel.

Hi Eta Prime, thank you for the great reviews on your channel. It is precisely because of this clip that I bought the same set for a project. The Pi4 with 4GB of memory and this 5inch monitor. The power supply has yet to come in, but if I connect everything as you show in the video, it won't work with a USB charger or power bank. If I leave the USB connection off for the power display and I supply the display with power via the power bank with a power cable, then it all works fine. What is your power solution that you use in this clip? Do I have to continue to power the display and the pi4 each with a USB cable or can I also use 1 USB cable via my Power Bank of 30000? Because it works with a smaller battery for you. Thanks and regards, Wilbert

I was thinking maybe the GeekPi UPS/Battery pack that uses dual 18650 batteries, plus they’re stackable. However, for this screen, maybe not, as I think theirs is bottom-mounted using pogo-pins, iirc, but if you search for “raspberry pi 4 dual 18650”, you’re sure to find something similar that’s top-mounted.
@itainelken4 жыл бұрын
You can connect a bigger battery to the pijuice
@ArtemisKitty4 жыл бұрын
Itai Nelken True, but the cost of the board + 2x 18650 is less than half the cost of a similar capacity Lipo cell. Honestly more like 20% currently from what I’m seeing. Plus... then you’re dealing with the “early days/Wild West” bs with quality, rather than just being able to pick up a reputable LG HE2 or Sony VTC series cell... and as someone who HAS had even fake brand name cells vent in the past, learning to spot fakes, etc, I am a VERY strong proponent of explosion shielded charge bags, and I won’t touch unknown brand batteries with a ground-isolated 10 foot pole. There’s also the benefit of being able to charge up several spare sets in our existing chargers, as I know a LOT of people have plenty of those useful 18650 cells around. Heck, I have mine color-coded with different wraps to indicate which of the 3 types each one is... (and it makes it clear if anyone tries to steal my batteries, as no OTHER LG cells around here have Hatsune Miku on them!) 😁 (Oh, and it also lets you keep them charges in pairs that way. Matching wear on sets.
