A very rare car didn't see many of these back in the day even when they were brand new Mostly four-door sedans..... A true classic from my childhood, along with many others..... Thank you for posting such a wonderful video on a gorgeous car 👍

Had a royal blue one with the white red and orange Starksey and Hutch stripe. The paint option like the video was called the sports appearance package !

Too bad Ford cancelled the Torino. The chassis and dash are the same with a different body. I always preferred the Torino body lines, but this is still nice.

Back in the day, the late 1970s LTD II was hardly a "cutting edge" car by any stretch -- but the darn thing actually looks like a classic in 2018. I wonder what engine it had (likely a 302-2V) under that big hood. I like the floor-mounted gear shift. That's kind of cool.

Most LTD II sport coupes had "II" decals behind the rear quarter windows. I wonder if they were an extra option?
@JuanitaWhisenant-kf2ly9 ай бұрын
where is the big II (two) that was behind the window on the fender? We owned one in 79

Had a 1978 model same color. Loved that car. Unfortunately it was stolen. Would love to get one. Is this one possibly still available?

At the red julip on Decarie :) awesome car, too bad the competition against the T-bird put an end to this model back in '79...by the way, the Ltd II appeared on the1984 tv show "Highway to Heaven".

The downsizing of the full- size LTD in 1979 made it obsolete anyway. (by 1979 the midsize LTD II was actually larger than the full size LTD it was meant to complement) In my opinion It would have sold better if it kept the Torino badge.

I had one acutely like it, it rusted out though, drove like a cloud, the hood was a picnic table, the gas ran straight through it

@Black Buick Was this in Canada? These cars don't tend to rust out in places like New Mexico and Arizona.

@Black Buick Ah yes. Chicago uses salt in the winter time and probably that new magnesium chloride formula they spread on the roads now right?

It is quite a bit of work but its worth it. My Grandpa passed down his 78 LTD II to me. But i cant drive it yet (only 15) but my grandma has done a great job with the car. Its still all original no rust with the sport package. One owner car and has never been in the snow. I absolutely love these cars and i cant wait to drive it
