Great job. Have done similar things using 3/4 inch plywood. Thin vertical lines from the plywood would give these speakers a cool look.

Awesome job. The frequency loss due to camera microphone, the youtube compression, then the processing at the end of viewers devices, and still this kind of sound, I believe these sound really awesome in actual presence. 😎 When I was going to build mine, I asked and showed around about what my building ideas are. People were like "are you crazy?" "Thats not gonna work", "You will kill the drivers", "study around before you ask", "download this app and check your parameters", ....etc....etc But when I built, it came out to be one of the worlds awesome sounding system. 🙂

Any reason for the zig zag canal design and why did you fill the canal with that yellow cotton doesn't it stop the sound flow?
@Solidworksmaster6 жыл бұрын
the yellow cotton doesn't stop sound come out, it turn to more important to reduce some unneccessary resonance inside box and make the sound more tightly, cohesion and clean
@era79286 жыл бұрын
yellow cotton is called glass wool. and the tunnel help boosting the bass.
@Shabbymannen6 жыл бұрын
DISCLAIMER: I'm no expert at all. I don't know shit about audio. I might be totally wrong. I think it's meant to be/work like a transmission line speaker. The canal is a waveguide for the back wave from the driver, and it's purpose is just to get rid of it. What comes out of it should be mostly low frequencies, ideally nothing at all. Since it ports out in the front, he might have done the math and made it the right length to have those frequencies be in phase and boost the bass. Regardless, it's not like a normal port, not a lot of sound should come out of there. It's meant to make the driver work with less effort.

Couple of questions: Why don't you show the measurements, either frequency response or waterfall plot to reveal stored energy? And why, for heaven's sake, did you place a planar tweeter closer to the listener than a piston driver with higher mass, which would throw off time alignment? Nice design visually, but somewhat off the mark...
