To those of y'all who are utterly confused about there only being one cadence: they're marching through the halls. Each person only hears the cadence, like, once before it fades out.

I used to poke fun at drum line (I’m primarily a guitarist) because “Oh it’s drums it’s just hitting stuff on beat” and then I started playing drums and now pretty much love drum line and their grooves.

That’s a cool on board camera for the snare drum! It kind of makes me think of the on board view you see during a NASCAR and Indycar race! One time we brought our middle school drumline out to a soccer game. We starting cheering for the drumline students on the team. Then we started playing everyone our team made a goal like the highschool does at the football games. We were very cringy and annoyed the crap out of everyone but it was so worth it. Of course our drumline hasn't been very disciplined since our old band teacher left so people kept randomly playing and we could get them to shut up so we finally decided to leave. There was also the fact that the security guard was circling us making is nervous and our band teacher who had told us to practice right outside of the band room hasn't come out yet and we didn't want to wait for that to happen.

Why do most people hate on bass drums. Yeah basses are most times easier to learn but think you are carry anywhere from a 40 pound drum to a 125 pound drum. I play a 100 pound bass drum for hours while with a heavy and thick uniform on. And in 100 degrees or more. It's harder then what people think. Also most times we can't see forward so if you are marching down your school hall ways you have to watch for students that you can't see coming.

Rock Lee First, Rock Lee is the best character in Naruto! Second, the word cadence has many meanings. In a drum line a cadence is piece that generally has easy to follow grooves and is played at a tempo of 120bpm, the purpose of which is to give the band something to march to to stay together. It's pretty fluid term. a lot of cadences are specifically written to just be a cool fun drumline groove to hype people up and what not.
