Towards the end of Dupree's pre-theme improv, George and Ruth do "Rollo Interior" over the "Louie Louie" riff. I don't think I've heard any "Greggery Peccary" segments on this track. The interesting thing about "Babbette" is that this is where the "we could share a love" thing for '74 RDNZL might have originated. But there's strangely enough no mention of quotation going either direction on the FZ discography website, which is usually quite thorough about what quotations appear where. Not a bad start to the show, but the coolest stuff is easily on disc three, which contains the remainder of this March '74 show. I'm glad we have a show (plus "Inca Roads" from three days earlier to represent the full repertoire of this lineup) from this tour. Oh, and fastest recovery possible.

I had Greggery Peccary on the brain and confused Rollo with the pre-Big Swifty And Associates GP section. Thanks for clearing that up.

Well, it's not an exact musical quotation. Babette versus "we could share a love/share some dog" = recognisably different

In this tour the solo section of cosmik debris starts with a tenor sax solo from Brock, than a harmonica solo from Simmons, keyboard solo from Duke and so on. Here i have the impression that right after the vocals something is omitted. Is the tenor sax solo edited away? Or was Brock not ready for a sax solo? Someone who has an idea?

Agree that this show is a definite highlight! Band is on point! This Rhythm section is probably my All-Time favorite, and that includes across all bands and genres, not just FZ bands! FZ is at peak performance. Material is superb!

You’re going to be impressed with the medley…especially, the tasty guitar solo from Chunga’s Revenge !

Honestly I could listen to the 73/74 band forever and this show is absolutely top draw for me. Brock is hands down my favourite vocalist Zappa worked with. Probably my own personal favourite show is the first 2 discs of Erie ,which borders on heresy because there's no Ruth ,but here Brock run through those old tunes in pristine quality is something I yearned for since the Untigated audicity boot . Get well soon mister .

This might be the best version of approximate. I think it’s better than Helsinki What’s your favorite version Shaggy?

Agreed. This might be the best version.

Absolutely a stomper. I just made that comment too.

@@Phlakaton88 Well, it's hard to say because the 1972 Approximates stand apart from all the others - if I ever get an Approximate craving it'll be for the '72 model, with more noise plus the Earle.

@@theopinionatedhippie470 that's a bummer....apparently, the immune system gets a bit of a beating by covid every time you get it. But I'm not a specialist so don't take my word for it.
@theopinionatedhippie4702 ай бұрын
That is what I have been told by an actual specialist. Interestingly, my wife has yet to get it despite being a childcare worker also who has been exposed probably a dozen plus times. Covid is a weird beast.

@@theopinionatedhippie470 yeah, some peolls seem to not get infected no matter how hard they try/how oftdn they get exposed. Maybe a genetic thing. You got through it every time so far, right? Well, you're still making vids so yeah.
