Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling is a Paper Mario style Adventure RPG following three heroes, Vi, Kabbu, and Leif, as they embark on an epic quest in Bugaria in search of The Everlasting Sapling, a treasure that can grant immortality! The game combines colorful platforming with the heroes' unique abilities as they explore a wide variety of areas in the kingdom. The turn-based battles make use of Action Commands that can power up your attacks!
STORY
Hidden within the foliage of nature lies a small but prosperous continent - Bugaria. Insects from all over the world travel to it in search of the treasure scattered across it. The most sought after of these relics is The Everlasting Sapling! Eating just one of its leaves can grant even immortality! In search of this ancient artifact, a brave team of explorers - Vi, Kabbu, and Leif - will travel across many different environments. In order to do so, they must work together to clear puzzles, defeat strong enemies and help the general bug populace!

I thought her name was canonically Violet, so wouldn’t her name be pronounced Vi as in “Vie” not “Vee”? Personally I was super glad to hear someone actually pronouncing it the way that seems correct to me, but it doesn’t seem like that’s going to last.

I'm surprised this game hasn't gotten more attention. I guess the Paper Mario trailer reminded me of how much I miss this style of game. Obviously the visuals/technical side of the game is pretty low-budget, but from an artistic and design standpoint I've been seriously impressed. Oh also, nice video!

Wow, I'm impressed!! Who made this game? It strikes a balance perfectly for a "chapter 1" between skills, combat mechanics that seem simple but with plenty of room for strategies, characters and even item variety/quantity. The art direction could be improved.. but still, it's gorgeous. I know it's based on Paper Mario, but not even Nintendo can copy it's own game this faithfully..

I personally pronounced Vi as "Vee" but it might be "Vie" Because Vi is short for Violet.

I always called her “Vie” because of her full name being Violet, like you said. I get the bee pun of her name being pronounced “Vee”, but I don’t think that’s how it would be pronounced personally. At least based on any “Violet”s I’ve known in real life.

So it turns out that it's probably Vee because her name is Violet, but in the french pronunciation (Vee-o-let) similar to how her sister, Jaune, is french for yellow.

Hey, did you know, male moths tend to have fluffier antennas (this is because it helps their sense of smell so they can pick up female pheromones during mating season from miles away), meaning that there is a high chance that Leif is probably female. Of course, this is just a game, so I am probably wrong.
