Ammo can for tools ,WD40 , extra spark plug , and a beer holder. Are the 2 best things to have on tractors or utility vehicles . I've been keeping a neodymium magnet stack (2 or 3 is best ) while working on small engines , lawn mower / Roto till . freaking life saver!! Time saver!! Gives me a chubby thinking about that "clink" sound the bolt and magnet make when they meet in the tall grass. I strongly advise getting some from home depot best 8 bucks I spent since I dont know when.

I use boat plugs,, the axles however,, always load full of grease before swimming,, because it’s part of your seal too,, most of us 6x6 enthusiasts utilize an auto sump/bilge pump, with a float and switch,,,,, welcome to the club Taryl,,, enjoy that beauty

had a friend who had a heavily modified Flat fender CJ with a buick V6 and paddle tires. They had a second house in northern minnesota. We would drive through old corduroy wood log roads that were under wetlands and dig for old log camp items. This was in the early eighties before the internet and GPS. He had paper maps from the Minnesota DNR and forestry.

My Scrambler (not currently operational) has 3-bolt hubs with 2 (each) roll pins rather than cotter pins and had the old balloon tires (molded to the rims). I'll have to punch and/or drill out the seized pins and make new hubs in order to put more modern rims and tires on. This one also has the front tank as mentioned in part 1.

I had argos back in the 70s and they had 2 pins holding on the hub like yours and they were shit!! When the tires went rolling by fast then you most of the time throw tire in back as the axel were pin fitted broken off so need another axel good luck with yours maybe you need to think trying the spine type that argo uses and rims are easy to get if needing rims I must have 30 here

The new tires will be 2 inches shorter and 1 inch narrower, which should be fine but you loose 1 inch ground clearance, might make it snapier off the line but loose top speed by a little

As batteries age the cells become more resistive due to sulfation which causes even a low amperage to heat up the cells more than normal.

Those were underpowered from the start. Most upgrade to a higher HP motor. A 20-23hp engine works best with that drive system. The 16hp was a joke and the 18hp was the bare minimum needed for that drive system. Drop a 23hp Briggs in it and there's not much it won't go through with plenty of pep and power. Love your channel buddy and I've watched quite a few videos you've done to help me with a few problem children carb-a-traitors I've worked on. Haha! For a little more storage, mount a boat plastic battery box with the cover lid. You can put your keys, wallet, phone or even some field tools needed to get you out of the woods if something breaks.

Northern minnesota was a degree or less two hotter than anywhere else in the USA. Over 100 F. Very strange weather maps.

The double holes in axle are for if you put tracks on to extend them out so the track will clear the body.

They are that way to work as paddles in the water. V is to the rear. If the v is forward then it's not so great in the water.

Best battery tender charger is ctek, they charge and then monitor the battery. When the battery reaches the correct voltage it stops charging and watches the voltage. When it drops to low it charges again. Unlike those battery tenders that supply a constant amperage and cook the battery.

You're right about fiberglass burning, Taryl. I saw a Chapparral Ski boat that had been sunk below the surface of Lake Powell out here in AZ, now exposed because of drought and lowered water levels. It had burned then sunk but holy cow, the thing's hull had burned clear to the waterline...YIKES!

THAT Briggs throttle kit is what you need for most factory Go Kart and Mini-Bike setups. It's what utilizes the governor throttle control. If you bypass or remove the governor, you can hook a throttle cable directly to the carburetor butterfly. . .

A few things: Did you paint the battery tray after making it? Did you grease up those chains? And, did you sand down the edge of the battery box after cutting it down? My OCD is working overtime.

Clutches maybe for turning? Different wheel speeds so you dont bust axles. Those things are really cool. Guy in my neighborhood had one when I was a kid. Banana Splits!

Just a thought about placing the battery just below the gas tank... I've had positive and negative battery cables cross and nearly start a fire and it was inches away from the gas tank. Just my $0.02.

Love your videos Carol I'm a huge fan. The only problem I see with the battery box is the frame that you welded won't accept a bigger battery so it really doesn't do any good to have the adjustable tie down.

in thee olden days of points ignition on cars when 12 volts batteries became common, the coils were 6 volts with a ballast resistor. Te 4th terminal was a ballast resistor by-pass to give a hotter spark for starting. ! volts would burn out a coil in continual usage, hence the 4th terminal system.

Slow leaks are fine, long as it's not gushing in/out. a Small 12V bilge pump would be ideal though, if you were out on the lake fishing for a few hours
