+rfmerrill Sonic & Knuckles Collection is a Windows game from 1997 with processor dependent speed problems.

Most likely, older Build engine games have all kinds of issues when beyond certain cpu cycles. On the other hand, as he talks about strafing, it may also be that you can break the speed limit by holding strafe and moving the mouse sideways fast af, which can be done in many games.

I remember this game back in the day and movement wasn't that fast. I think it's a dosbox/cpu issue too.

It was somewhat impressive from a graphical standpoint in 1995, but within less than a year Duke Nukem wiped the floor with it. Not to mention that the actual gameplay and mechanics were not well designed at all.

For anyone who (like me) watches this in the nightmare-future of 2018: I wholeheartedly recommend civvie11's review of TekWar watch?v=5Tnqs2OIM44 He not only takes a look at this wonderful gem but also played all of Capstone's previous outings. And no: Tekwar is not the worst of them.

William Shatner chose a hell of a game to plaster his name all over. I get wanting to have your name on something but putting your name IN THE TITLE is an amazingly massive ego move. It's basically exactly what I expect from Shatner.

Yep, it was made on an early version of the Build Engine in 1995.
