Bonjour.

I took an old 12v tire pump for car tires and JB welded an inlet tube where it sucks in air and connect it to a catch jar with an input and output. Put it on the nipple, plug in the tire pump and watch the catch jar as you open the bleeder and fluid will flow. Easy and powerful.

You saved my bacon getting trapped air out of a stubborn clutch with a really inaccessible bleed nipple. The two person method was painfully slow and didn't work well enough. Using your method let me pull about 300ml through the system in 5min. No more air bubbles and much better clutch bite point. This is going to be my standard method now, thank you.

I designed one of those one man "bottle" bleeders over 30 years ago... But you have definitely improved on that idea! 2 tips to make it work better #1 keep an eye on the reservoir level so it doesn't get too low. #2 keep the tubing above the brakes so you don't create air bubble back bleed from the loose bleeder valve. 👍👍👍👍👍 5 thumbs up to you!

Bloody Brilliant ! I would like to suggest just little addition to that kit. A small one way check valve check valve! From the brake bleed, use a 1"/25mm hose, then the check and then as long a hose as you need to the stray trigger. The trigger has it's own stop valve and the check valve will prevent fluid from being drained out of the hose when disconnecting from the bleed screw. At least a very minimum amount of fluid of which a rag will catch. At least, if you drop the hose or lay it down, it won't leak all over the place! Ohhh and by the way, make sure you top up that fluid in the reservoir before you start and keep an eye on it and keep topping up!!!! Cheers

This is a fantastic idea, another method is put a piece of tube over the open bleeder then put it in an old bottle of brake fluid then just pump the brakes, no need to open and close the bleeder. It works great. Also a tie wrap around the hose stops leaks. Thanks for the idea

Parts stores still make money off the fluid, pads, rotors, calipers, and other parts. As a parts store counter person, it really doesn't make me any difference. I'm either going to sell the parts to you directly, or to you via your mechanic. If you, as a DIY'er, want to do your own work using tools you make from stuff you have laying around, I'll still be here to sell you the parts you need and don't have. By the way, we sell the spray bottles and tubing as seen in this video. Probably 5% of my sales start off with my customer saying I saw this on KZbin. 😉

A good idea as a poor mans substitute for a $19 hand vacuum pump, but: 1. Air is more compressible/expandable (stretchable) than fluid. A shorter tube makes the work go faster. 2. Most of the air is being sucked in around the threads of the bleeder screw. Put some silicone grease/Silglyde around it and this hack is more effective.
@TR4zest6 жыл бұрын
... anf find a piece of tubing that fits, so you have no tubing joints, there is probably more air coming in where small tubing is sleeved into bigger tubing, than via the threads.

While your video is great. You left out one very important part. Remove the cap from the brake fluid resolvor, and always keep an eye on it. If the brake resolvor gets empty, all the work you're doing will be a total waste of time.
