I would say that you are both right. I assume that incontrol worked extremely hard to get where he is. On the other hand, if someone would work as hard and do it twice as good as incontrol but started today, that person would simply not catch up. It pays off to be first.

Geoff, in my opinion, has done more for the Starcraft 2 scene than any other single personality that we have. You can love him or hate him, but either way this guy has helped us all out so much and the scene would not be what is today without him. Thank you Incontrol!

I'm pretty sure anyone in fame, was lucky in some sort of way to get there. Because someone got lucky, doesn't mean said person doesn't also work hard though.

InControl and more recently Eternal Envy are two of my own personal role models in life. Both of them poured their heart and soul into what they want to do, they worked hard, EE quit out of school to become a pro gamer, InControl's mother had to skip rent to pay for him to make his dream a reality. Sacrifices are made and no matter how much haters on reddit fling shit at them, both are perfect example on how you don't let it turn you away, and you achieve your goals.

Incontrol you are by far the best caster at the moment, watched you paired with Apollo yesterday at Dreamhack Open Summer and you two are the only pair of casters that actually talk about the game, as well as being informative so they any new viewers can actually know whats going on - rather than figuring out what Tasteless had for lunch...

The SC2 scene is pretty damn hard to get in to as a caster. Honestly a better way to contribute to SC2 is to just be a regular guy working a regular job and throwing a few bucks to your favorite SC2 personalities/events. Working hard doesn't always guarantee success. Some people just happen to be in the right place at the right time with the right experience. If you are banking 100% on being a SC2 caster for a living without a backup plan and no one knows who you are, there's a high chance you will end up disappointed and in poor financial condition.

Know that no matter how hard the thinks the worked or how much the thinks the "deserves it" that the is/was not the only "poor" one and that it is indeed luck of the draw "". For nothing is deserved or undeserved for all is relative and reality simply is.

I love Incontrol. He's always been one of my favorite players. He literally has put blood, sweat, and tears into this shit and IMO he deserves much more than he's got. He is an amazing eSports worker! He is one of the best and I really hate that SC2 is not as popular as it could be because he would be so much more popular if he played a better game. But mad respect for Incontrol because he's amazing!

Being successful requires working hard, but working hard doesn't make you successful. Being really good and working hard doesn't ensure success. Geoff's story about working hard is a common one. Geoff's story about success is not. I really wish successful people would be less arrogant and see that their state isn't comprehensively their "fault".

None of these changes the fact that t he scene is over saturated. Money in terms of tournament payouts keeps increasing even though viewer ship is decreasing. Hopefully legacy of the void changes this and it all does 180 because Starcraft is great, lot's of great people in the community including Geoff and has potentially to be one of the better eSports out there. Would love to get into playing again, going to wait for LoV though.

Dear Incontrol, This comment may drift into the void unheard but I feel like I gotta say something directly to you after watching this video. The only times Im happy are when Im watching esports and twitch, and your one of my favorite people. Theres just something about you, the combination of physical strength while bleeding for an intellectual game like starcraft; The success you have with what you love, The friends you have; the steady pay, The beautiful wifey, even the evil dog (Labradors are better), The worthy wordsmith, the masculine good looks, The big dick (88% chance given body type), The ability to laugh and have a good time. If I could be anyone on the planet it would be you! as you can see Im terrible at giving compliments and showering praise, but I'm trying.. I'm really jealous of everything about you! not a bitter jealousy, just jelly. Im just glad you exist! With so much time spectating sc2 and moba, I can tell when someone is just in it for the money, or has lost their passion.... and your not that kind of person. The fact that you respond to this negativity just shows even more that you care. So here's to you my good sir. may you find happiness in the next 16 years of your life, wherever your passions take you. Ill never forget what great things you did for the game I love.

ppl who think sc2 is dead is silly and too narrow-minded. sc1 was around the scene from 1998 up to 2010 and it never lost steam in korea. sc2 is changing constantly changing with patches (david kim) and the maps (yes they make or break a build). not to mention Legacy of the Void hasn't come out yet and Blizzard confirm they are bringing new units out for multiplayer (going back what they said earlier?) so yeah, sc2 is def not dead.

Haha, you know you're a forum troll when your arguing that you know more about person then the person themselves. All the so called "old boys club" members worked tirelessly to get to where they are now. Neither came from money or a prestigious gaming family that some people on this comment section would have you believe. I don't even know what OP is ranting about. That it's wrong for all these past BW pros know each other? That in any industry connections do matter? Or that people shouldn't peruse their dreams out of the possibility failure? Not every dream to be realized, but to just listen to some stranger tell you that it's not worth trying because they personally think it's too hard is what's far fetched.

Love the guy but SC2 is DEAD. I used to watch GSL, checked back they barely have any SC2 content, and even finals of series cant break 100K views. Almost all the pros moved on to LOL. Incontrol sustains because he represents EG, promotes their sponsors, and is a personality. I love SC but its so repetitive. Same crap over and over, each matchup has the same builds and styles. Not nearly enough variety in the game.
@HYDRAdude10 жыл бұрын
There goes incontrol pretending he is some blue collar hard working individual when in reality he is just some trust fund babb with a rich dad with lots of connections. To deny that the NA scene is anything more than an old boy's club is ridiculous. Nathanias had to get exposure and recognition from the EU scene because of this. The sooner the NA scene drops dead the better off sc2 will be.
