Good morning Kevin. Great haul. That Hammer is a Stanley tack hammer that was part of the Stanley Handyman line of tools that were their more affordable offerings and were designed for homeowners and d.i.y.ers to have and use. They started selling that line in the 1940s and stopped the Handyman line in the 1970s. It was probably magnetic when it first came out.

That stanley hammer is a good pickup for sure. I'm currently building up the Old Hickory OKC kitchen knife set, so I always love seeing one being picked up and restored. Especially since Ontario Knife Company got bought out. So the knives left in stock at different stores have all went up in price.

Actually have one of those stubby screwdrivers! Came with my dad's craftsman set. Came in handy when you needed a full size blade but no room for the standard shaft length. Had a Phillips head also.

Awesome cool video. That is a Tack Hammer. That place on the back is to put several small Tack Nails in at once, so when you hammer one tack, you get the next one easily. Walmart still sells them. I bought one at Walmart a few years ago. Since the air tools came along people don't use the tack hammer much anymore. Many thumbs up to your video. Btw, Back in the day they used them for things like nailing screen wire over a window or a screen on a porch plus they used them to hammer material over sofas and the future. They were convenient for little things when you had to use small nails. My father had one. That is why I bought the one at Walmart. They did use them for shoes also.

I brought a couple AK bayonets home from OIF and OEF.... they were very common souvenirs for us.... there was great variety in the early day of Iraq (2003), Soviet Russia, East German and the IRQ mfgrd were the hardest to find and most valuable... Romanian and Yugoslavian were scattered everywhere seemingly.... Different units had different rules at different times about what you could or couldn't bring home and some guys didn't get to bring them home. When I was in Africa in 05, there was a great variety of stuff around but MARCENT didn't allow us to bring back anything really cool.... likewise when I went to Bulgaria.... almost everything I did buy as souvenirs got stolen along with our bags on the commercial flights home (luckily I had a few smaller keepsakes in my carry-on).

Hey Kevin, I Never tried, when I bought it at gun and knife show I was told it was Romanian, all the the ones I’ve seen online that are Romanian look exactly same, a friend of mine picked up a Romanian AK at a sporting goods store and it came with/ the exact same one as mine, they’re all surplus. I hope that helps. Eric@GreatLakesKnivesandLanterns

That’s a tack hammer. You place the tack on the split end which is magnetized and just hammer it in as typically the steel tacks are too short to hold and you would hit your finger tip. It’s a great way to start the tack saving your fingers.

Great knife haul video, I always enjoy watching what you come across. I recently picked up a Schrade 8OT in good condition. I was installing a new battery in my motorcycle and was using it help me line up the small bolts to the terminals. Well, I managed to touch the frame at the same time and it arced, scaring me and taking a similar chunk out of the blade as your Queen knife. I was bummed out but I did manage to get the damage out of the blade but it is not the same knife as before. Oh well, lesson learned and I guess I'll be hunting for another 8OT.

There are some US military bayonets that have a wire cutting ability in conjunction with the sheath. Maybe these were after you. I bought one at a gun show. It is stamped “M9 PHROBIS III. USA”. The bottom of the sheath has a steel T-shaped post to use in conjunction with the blade as a wire cutter.
