Great channel! The video about Staufen from Tom Scott brought me here and I like it a lot

True craftsmanship. I've never skated, never wanted to skate, never even thought about skating, but I can recognize and appreciate exceptional skills when I see them. I'm sure your Dad appreciated getting some quality shop time with his son, plus he's got one hell of a nice shop. Easy to see where you get your skills from; apple not falling too far from the tree.

Great video, definitely deserves more views. Ash is really kind of bendy, which is why it can also be used for making bows.

Thanks! Over time, the views will come. Some of my other videos took months to get picked up by the algorithm and get a sudden spike in views. But nevertheless, I'm just excited to have a select group of people that's actually interested in my projects.

I truly enjoyed this video, the way you tell the story and how it's filmed makes it easy to watch. Awesome shop your dad has and so cool that you can do something like this together with him while filming it. The board looked great too! I needed this, cheers!

Associating yourself with DPT is a bad idea, the man is unhinged!
@ConstantijnC4 жыл бұрын
I've been following him for years now and I've followed the drama very closely. Some of his opinions/statements match mine and others don't. If we could all just not be so polarized and actually have proper conversations with each other, the situation would be much better. I had great conversations with him, both in public in his comment section as well as in private, where we were able to discuss our different opinions in a super friendly manner. I urge you to leave your bubble and talk to him like an adult to see for yourself. He is one of the nicest people I know and a great engineer with a great amount of creativity, which is a very rare yet valuable combination of traits with engineers.

@@ConstantijnC I tried expressing my opinions in a calm and collective manor, but once again the man is unhinged and not someone anyone should associate with. I agree with some of his opinions myself, and think he is a fairly smart person, but he refused to listen and called me a "sock puppet".

Cool video and a nice build! Why laminate the carbon fiber between the veneers though, where it is not under load and cannot contribute to stiffness? It would be way stiffer if the carbon fiber was on the underside of the board.
@ConstantijnC3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it would make a big difference, but I wanted to keep the wooden look. I might add a layer of fiberglass on the bottom. That would also help a lot and it would be almost transparent. Thanks for watching!

Wait you road a motorcycle from spain to germany? As an ignorant american I wasn't sure how far that was so I looked it up and thats a multi day trip. Anyways that wood shop is super nice. That huge planer and super cool cnc table made me drool.
@ConstantijnC4 жыл бұрын
Yes that's a multi day trip. Had some camping gear strapped to the back of my bike and it was quite an adventure 😄 Oh and regarding the shop and his tools: yes they make me drool as well!

Yup, but not just one. It's his profession 😊

@@ConstantijnC Perhaps on another trip you can film him talking about the woods he uses and how he shapes the pieces and things like that (unless he'd rather not, that would be okay).
@ConstantijnC4 жыл бұрын
@@jefferroo He didn't seem super keen on that, that's why I didn't go into further detail in the video, but maybe his opinion can be challenged in the future ;)

Was looking for, carbon forged skate trucks( longboard trucks) and I found your video. Just a question., what did you use to joine the wood and the carbon fiber? It ia not wood glue right? Been wanting to make my own deck for a while. Maybe dancer board or a downhill one. Great Video! Cheers!
@ConstantijnC2 жыл бұрын
Hey! I used just plain epoxy. Works great with wood, carbon fiber and other laminates. Cheers :)
