I still love and use my rp1000. People look at me like I’m silly until they hear it. That think is such a workhorse. I even bought an rp355 for a church rig in case somebody drops out and they call me I can show up. Plug in and go. I even built a great model for my acoustic that has a great 12 string vibe. These were pro grade units. The reverbs in the RP1000 are lexicon and they are amazing. Just beautiful reverbs
@Fergieguitar Жыл бұрын
The reverbs are great, I never touched on them in the video because they deserve their own video... Same with the amps and the overdrives.

I had the RP500 and sadly sold it but im definitely thinking im gonna order one of these! I have a Boss GT100 and while it sounds great I grew up having a few of the smaller Digitech multi effects and getting the sound you want is so easy, on the GT100 I found it somewhat kinda difficult to program and a few things took quite a bit of researching even
@Fergieguitar Жыл бұрын
Hi, the RP 1000 is identical to use as the 500 but with more... there's more overdrives, the FX loop, 4 cable method, looper, stomp loop and you can use the bottom row of buttons like the 500 as presets but switch the individual fx on and off with the top row. . I still see them going so cheap

👏👏👏👏Thank you so much from the video!I have a Bugera 333xl too!Amazing amp!I bought a Digitech drop tune pedal for use with my pedal board.Sometimes I use my Helix.Amazing video!Thanks again!🙏👍
@Fergieguitar Жыл бұрын
Oh wow thank you, I will do another video comparing a lot of the overdrives the RP1000 has , they work so well with the Bugera, the Drop is a great pedal but have a look for the RP1000 in the used market, the Drop will sit in the "stomp loop" so it can be integrated ...and you have a full whammy pedal in the RP plus the noise gate that makes a difference if using the Bugera gain channels
@wesleyleftguitar567 Жыл бұрын
@@Fergieguitar true!This amp is really good!The Rp1000 too!I know seems crazy but I like to put impulse response in the loop of Bugera and sometimes with pedals in the front…changes a lot the behavior of the amp and give to you a amazing tone too!Have a good week!👍🙏
@Fergieguitar Жыл бұрын
@@wesleyleftguitar567 the impulse response is basically a high power eq, try a cheap EQ pedal in the FX loop, even a €20 behringer, so much power over your tones, it's like another channel controlled by the FX loop on of button, IR are really meant for FRFR cabs so a nice trick is running from the line out into an IR and blending your amp tone with a pa cab or frfr

Thank you, very good review. Just today I received one, obviously used but in very good condition. It would be great if you could share a video with this pedalboard in a live presentation to learn the optimal way to use it.
@Fergieguitar11 ай бұрын
Thank you, I will do that, for me it's best to never max the high gain tones, use the Redline or SD1 boost to hit that...that are excellent. The 5150 tone is great, the Legacy is a great rock and solo tone too. Easy on the delays, they are powerful. You can set FX pre or post gain but the louder you go, the less you need. Pre is best for phaser to me, more Van Halen then, I'll do another few videos on it. Enjoy cos it's a great unit

Nice showcase of this long forgotten gem. I've had mine for well over 10yrs and still have not plumbed the depths of what it can do. Still searching for the holy grail metal rhythm tone (any hints?) but have been able to dial up a killer (and musical) Andy James-esq solo tone which I love
@Fergieguitar9 ай бұрын
Try the 5150 setting, if running into an amp, set the cab option to "direct"...if you set gain at about half then use the "sd1" overdrive to boost it. Also in FX look for "detune" and drop 4-6 cents, it sort of adds a non moving chorus effect but is close to double tracking...works even better if you do this in stereo using a 2nd amp....even if not using 4 cable method, always, plug direct into the amp FX return, not the front so you miss the amps own preamp
@ADBAnt19 ай бұрын
@@Fergieguitar thanks man, excited to try that! I remember having access to a user patch library where people would share their sounds but I reckon that site is probably looong gone
@Fergieguitar9 ай бұрын
@@ADBAnt1the problem with any of the patches generally is they vary so much on your amp and especially your speaker...also most were made at home and home volume then sound way too much live. Also use minimal delays, maybe 15% max but especially live, just kill it off. It's tempting to dive into the EQ section but I found that's so powerful it can destroy your tone more often than fix it. For any of the high gain tones, treat them like a real amp, less gain from the amp, boost with overdrive with gain set low, level set high. Oh the detune thing is very Zakk Wylde sounding.

It will be helpful if you kindly show through demo the settings of sound you stored in your RP 1000 effects in preset &pedalboard too and how to connect 4 cable method in RP 1000. Your Guitar & effects sounds superb. Looking forward Sir.

This video shows it hooked up, also a Line 6, the main gain you hear is actually the amp in this video, the fx are just one at a time and set up quickly for the video, phaser was "pre" fx loop, chorus, delay, univibe , harmony were post, for the 5150 tone, very simple, gain 60%, bass 60%, mid50%, treble 65%, boost is the "sd1" level on 100, gain on 20% and tone on 50%. NO cab emulation, no added EQ, simple, use less fx level the louder you play, live I don't use delay or reverb at all, not too much bass and drop the gain to 45 to 50%... keep it punchy This video shows the wiring up , sadly since I made the last video, the RP1000 took a near 2m fall onto concrete and didn't survive, I'll try and revive it but it was a big hit. Thank you for the compliments and hope this helps kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJS6fnakhKmIgqs

4 cable method is explained in the RP1000 manual, and would need over an hour to include settings so understand why he didn't. There other thing to remember is that your amp/cab setup will be different from his

I have mine setup with 4 cable method into a Mesa Boogie Road King with a 2x12 cab and it’s great. I also use the usb into a laptop for direct recording from the rp1000 into a daw. I have studio monitors plugged into the xlr sockets which is good for backing tracks and jamming etc but unfortunately the backing tracks play through both the studio monitors and the amp speaker cab because of the 4 cable amp loop. Any ideas how to send the backing tracks from the laptop to the studio monitors only. They can be connected with either xlr or 1/4” trs. ? Anyhow great to see some new content on this terrific but unsupported and discontinued product from Digitech. Btw the editing software still functions great on Windows 10 too.

Possibly the only option is using a mixing desk, laptop onto desk, output from Digitech into another channel , using monitor output for one and main output for another... it's a thought anyway

You'd find the RP1000 to be familiar to use but has double the factory presets, double the user presets and so many amps and FX options plus FX loop, amp loop and can work in 4 cable method,, but yours has mic placement and a global cab sim which was handy. Good kit. Digitech made a lot of great stuff

Do you still have the Boss Katana pedalboard? How's it holding up?
@Fergieguitar Жыл бұрын
I do, I used it for 8 gigs this year, the only additional was a boss sd1 as my boost which frees up a space on the foot switches for a second FX, It is still working as well as the day I made it .in fact a follow up video should be done. It's a joy to use.

Pretty cool I may have to get one, Ive seen these for sale online. How much recording time is on the looper and does it have drum beats on it.
@Fergieguitar10 ай бұрын
It's only a 20 second looper but add overdubs galore , no drum machine
@Fergieguitar10 ай бұрын
the Stomp loop is different than a looper, it lets you add pedals you like in the chain either pre amp side or fx loop side depending on what you add , you leave the pedal on all the time and the digitech can be programmed to have that pedal on in one preset and not in another
