Hey :)) noch ein deutsches Wort :)) and it was spelled correctly :DD So sweet!!! Super happy you liked it and I was surprised how well the plaster went with the resin...I will play with this concept more in the future for sure!!! @MKLGRMFineArt4 жыл бұрын
they are made from insulation foam. A construction foam that you use for isolation of doors and windows. It is a self-expanding foam which I just sprayed on the mdf board and when it hardened I cut it in half to get the look that I achieved here.

Hi!How much resin one need to be able to create this kind of gorgeous thing? Thanks.
@MKLGRMFineArt5 жыл бұрын
I have not really meassured it and it also depends on the overall size of the piece that you want to create....I think for this one I took something around 400 or 500ml perhaps?!

Lovely! I have 2 qs: how do you finished the edges? And did foam reacted somehow with the resin? I agree: Glitter everywhere!!! ;)
@MKLGRMFineArt5 жыл бұрын
ana claudia Tierhs i let the resin flow over the edges to seal them and no the resin did not react with the foam at all. Not sure if this is the same with every resin but for the one is used all worked perfectly :)

How u do the texture plaster with what please to make it 3d or like rocks ?
@MKLGRMFineArt6 жыл бұрын
Hadeel H it was regular plaster and I mixed it as said on the package (just water) and used my fingers to spread it around. Pretty much all that you can see in the video. The stuff on the outside and the ring was no plaster, that is insulation foam
@HH-wi8oj6 жыл бұрын
MKL GRM Fine Art really thank u your artwork really amazing !! Iwill try this for sure .. english not my language but i search a lot i understood its foam but i knew the foam will bobs out but on your work its barley smooth so
@MKLGRMFineArt6 жыл бұрын
Hadeel H yes this insulation foam comes in spray bottles and you apply it to the surface and it expands and gets bigger. I cut it to the size i needed and then used my palette knife to make the texture on there.

your works is always fantastic , supper supper cool . but i have one problem with my epoxy work , that i cannot resolve it . when i see your projects they are always have nice and flat surface , with beautiful shine ,mirror finishing . but with my projects every thing is cool except that i always have a wavy surface ., it is shiny and nice with beautiful reflection but not complete flat as mirror . as i know this will happen if i use the heat gun after the epoxy starts to harden . but i use the heat gun only for 10 mints after pouring . i don't know how to resolve this problem , could you advice me pls thanks
@MKLGRMFineArt6 жыл бұрын
Hey Ahmed, can you tell me which resin you use? Well I myself don't use the heat gun that often. I only use it pretty much in the early stages when I want to create lacing effects with the color. If you just use it to remove the rising air bubbles from the resin then a torch is better. It does not warm the resin that much as it produces more pressure and pops the bubbles along with the heat it emits. You can also liquify resin a bit more with the heat when it already started curing (getting thicker) but as far as I know it might change its chemical behaviour if it is heated above 40°C once it is starting to cure. Normally the resin itself should level itself. Why not try such a project here? There was no heat gun needed. I colored the resin and poured it on one go - as you could see in the video. I torched it to remove the bubbles but thats it. Other than that I really did not do much more to it.

Ahmed Hatoum hmmmmm never tried that one. So far I had the art resin which is pretty pricy, a noname resin which is very liquid and hard to handle and a resin from resin8 UK which worked well too. master cast is next on my list to try :)
@kjerstirykkelblom51956 жыл бұрын
Beautiful! 😍. How long do you let everything dry before you put on Resin? I’ve heard that acrylic paintings need at least 3-4 weeks to cure before coated with Resin - and i wonder how that would be with plaster?
@MKLGRMFineArt6 жыл бұрын
Never cared for that...once the paint is dry I go for the next steps. Normally next day depending how thick the pour was...same with the plaster. It was dry the next day so I was good. When you work on canvas for example the paint has still time to do its thing as rest amount of water can go through the fabric or whatsoever...never had any issues so far.
@taniaclass48056 жыл бұрын
I think also on canvas and in pouring the wait time is a lot longer.
@pedacodcielo6 жыл бұрын
Tania Class ?,.i just put plaster on my canvas on top of acrylic and its chipping off
@MKLGRMFineArt6 жыл бұрын
K O plaster will not stick on acrylics like it does but stick on most plastics. It just cannot grip there. It prefers an absorbing base :)
@fernandorios23236 жыл бұрын
What is that plaster stuff he put over the blue?
@MKLGRMFineArt6 жыл бұрын
Well plaster is the medium. Don't know if there are other words for it. It is a white powder that you mix with water and it thickens over time. Can be used for sculptures or to seal cracks in walls and such...pretty common stuff, not really an art material though. Sure you have seen it as well :)
@fernandorios23236 жыл бұрын
MKL GRM Fine Art have you tried mixing just regular acrylic paint with resin ? Does it have the same effect?
@MKLGRMFineArt6 жыл бұрын
yes I did but only take about 5-10% of the amount compared to the resin. If you want a transluscent resin it works better with pigments. But you can use acrylics with the resin :)

Did you used acrylic blue colour with clear resin or with water?
@MKLGRMFineArt6 жыл бұрын
base layer was a metallic acrylic paint on the plaster. In the resin I mixed a little bit of the same color but just enough to have it still translucent to give it that water-effect. I did not add water to the resin (which you never should do anyways)
