Those of you commenting negatively about how he built his trap, are missing the point, all together. It's a variation of an age old trigger mechanism, called a figure four. It used to be taught in boy scouts manuals.

I actually work for fish and wildlife in North Carolina we are using this trap now. it actually works better than its with less harm done to the birds. and where you be even altered it to catch small animals without harm thank you very much.

Great video and nice little trap. Set up a few of these around and you can feed a small party at little to no expenditure of energy. To those who are saying this isn’t “simple” you obviously have no clue as to what you are doing. It’s a simple figure 4 snare. Use it on the ground for rabbits, grouse, squirrel. Hell amp it up and you cAn use it for deer too. It’s a primitive design used for thousands of years. To those who are criticizing using hammer and nails, saying ‘who would have that if they were lost in the woods’. If you DONT have something like this in your kit when out in the woods then you don’t belong there. Whether it’s a small hammer or a hammer stone or a multi tool or small hatchet it’s all the same. Cordage can be made or pulled out of your paracord ( you do have paracord when you leave your house don’t you?). You should always have a fixed blade knife for cutting, carving and splitting wood and YES I pack a few nails on me in my kit. You can use them as fasteners, fishing hooks, or any number of Survival uses. And they are lightweight. This is a great set up for Survival, whether you are lost or stranded, in a SHTF situation, or even if you are primitive living. Kudos to KM Daily. New sub from me

People keep commenting that you would never have all this stuff in a survival situation. Not all survival is "lost in the woods till I get rescued" survival. I'm many parts of the world, survival is a way of life. Those people build traps to feed themselves for years. They would work or trade to get the wood and nails to build something to feed the wife and kids. Not everyone lives down the road from a Whole Foods where the buy organic avacadoes and chia seed bread. These people either grow, gather, or catch every bite of food.

To the negative commentors, he obviously has tools including nails. This might be one way he gets food in his day to day life. I used to use when I was a kid number nine swelled hooks and use either corn or red balls of fire fish eggs for either chukar or pheasants. Put a fishing line in a ring with about a half disown sets around a bush. Food for a couple of days.
