I live about an hour from Gatlinburg. Some of the hotels in town have balconies right on the river and I have actually caught nice fish right in the downtown area of Gatlinburg.

A very good spot on a weekday during cool weather. TWRA is doing a great job with the trout stocking program in East Tennessee. During the weekends in warm weather, too many swimmers taking a dip in these cold water pools around the bridge. They usually do not show any respect to the anglers. Not a lot of parking near by on the weekend. Very limited land access to the river here. If you can time it right on a weekday with the stocking schedule and cooler weather, you’ll catch some nice ones here, Eggs on small hooks, Trout Magnets, and Roster Tail Spinners are the baits. Lite line on an lite action rod are the secret.

Here is this location my friend? I try to put the name as it appears in the video but can't find it on Google maps. Thanks

That’s my favorite spot up there. Can be a little crowded with swimmers in the summer, but still great. On the parking, if you’re willing to walk, there is a church a half mile up the road with decent parking.

I loved this video so much I loaded up and headed down there from my home in Chuckey, Tn. This was back in October, middle of the week. I got to see some beautiful scenery. This area is so pretty even up by The Pitman Center. I did not do any fishing there but had all my tackle with me. I have a Jeep Liberty and there was no space big enough anywhere close that I would have felt comfortable parking. The one small spot that I could have parked had a big busted bag of trash someone had tossed or left. I carry plastic bags and gloves with me just for times I find this. But there was nowhere I could park just to do that. Plus signs all around stating private areas. It was apparent to me that they really didn't want just anyone parking and fishing this spot. I drove along the creek away from the bridge for about 2 miles and it looks like a development of nice cabins and homes that are mostly way off the road. I found one area with a picnic table that had parking, and there were about 8 people walking their dogs along this area. They said it was a private picnic spot. they were very nice and friendly but made no suggestions as to where I could park to fish. So I rode around for about 2 hours marking other creeks and spots with parking areas, for future trips. Its only about 75 minutes from our home. . I did find a pull-off about a half mile from the covered bridge that I noted. Next time I will just park there and walk to the bridge. Its a beautiful area and enjoyed the day even without being able to fish the covered bridge. Oh, as the road is not very busy, I stopped beside the bridge and with my binoculars, I could see at least 8 trout swimming in that area. Thanks for the info on location, hope to get back down there before Thanksgiving and give it a cast or two.

Been there once ... BUT, lots of private property all around there. If you leave your vehicle, it will likely be towed away she you return to where you parked. No fish is worth the tow fee, time, and taxi to the tow yard. Not again.

@TeamPautzke4 жыл бұрын
Ken, You can't use eggs or any bait in the national park.
@JunkMailBoxStuff4 жыл бұрын
I fish in 4 different states. Not all 4 have the same regulations, so get the official state regulations and guidelines for *each* state, national park, etc. Not worth the cost of fines (or criminal charge) & loss of gear. This specific location, never again. After a scenic drive I drove past this place last year (having flashbacks of the previous incident) and there are now small boulders along this road to show the private property lines, a sign on an adjacent road saying *if you're here then your GPS is wrong,* and folks will walk out of their cabins/homes to look at you to let you know you don't belong here unless you only pause to take a photo of the historic bridge. There is good fishing downtown Sevierville along that shallow river with trout, small mouth, sunfish, more.
