I love this game. Played this in Vegas at Caesar’s and got a 4 of a kind progressive for 1200 off a 5 dollar bet. Sadly don’t have it in my hometown. Nice stream.

In the California version of 3 card poker the dealer exposes one hole card. So if they show an ace king or Queen you can look at your cards and know whether or not to play. Any other card and you can gamble

A few things I noted as I play 3-card a lot. 1) if you want to protect your top bet since you lost the top bet a lot when you pushed, do 30, 30, 25, 5 so that it becomes a push with no loss of money. 2) When the dealer gets hot on a single table you should increase to two hands until you lose 3 in a row. Playing 2 hands in that scenario usually will get you a push or win for awhile. 3) Don't be afraid to raise and keep on rising, especially after a win or a series of losses. There are so many times i can count that I was bailed out by a raised straight and/or trips/straight flush when I was down. Summary: 3-card can make you quite a bit of money if you have patience and/or watch for scenarios. Also the lowest qualifier for playing isn't a Q but Q-6 according to the probability tables. Last, one thing I do when i find the dealer isn't qualifying a lot is play blind for a couple of hands.

Where I usually have played three card poker in Louisiana, Mississippi and Oklahoma Casinos they don't allow you to show your hand if you do stay and instead tell you to put your hand on the play section facing down with your chip on top. The reason behind showing your hand is that the dealer thinks that you are folding your hand. Cool this is the first time I have ever seen a player show their hand while staying/ playing in a game.

Whatever you put on the pair plus you should double it for your ante. That way if the dealer doesn’t qualify, you’re up one.

For all the beginners, when you “play” your hand just put it in the play box (face down) and put your bet on top of the cards. When you fold, don’t say “fold” a hundred times, just put your cards under the 6 card ante bet. The dealer should’ve corrected that from the jump. Oh well.
