Awesome Workbench / Assembly Table Build DIY

I'm in the processes of setting up my new workshop after moving. A new assembly table / workbench is a critical part of my new shop design. This workbench has a number of features. Under the table tool trays, french cleats, laminate top (do not use melamine use MDF), 8 drawers, through cabinet storage, closed door storage, built in flexibility to add a router lift down the road if desired, or even a built in shop vac for dust collection. Not to mention the retractable casters to make the whole thing mobile. WARNING - DO NOT use melamine like I did. Use MDF. After a few days the laminate began to lift . . . I am stupid.

Ok at just under the 5 minute mark…you are NOT stupid. I am just AMAZED at the things you create with your hands! You are really gifted and intelligent. I watched your videos on the patio build and your video on data collection to determine the best dust collection system. I’m thinking to myself where did this guy learn all this?! If I wasn’t a nurse, I would be a carpenter. I’ve done some simple diys but I want to do some bigger projects so looking at building a workbench. Mine may not be as pro as yours though! 😅 But thanks for the video and great job!

Hey Robert, its 4x6. Which is a great size because you can keep the left over formica top and use it for a router table or something else, which is what I did.

Nice build. I am also stupid btw, lol. I have a paulk style outfeed assembly table your bench checks alot of boxes. I only wish I would have made my worktop easily removable/replaceable. That way I can damage or cut into the top and replace if needed.
