Warframe : All INDIFFERENCE Cutscenes After New War Quest to Warframe 1999

The Void/Indifference has 2 known "somewhat" separate bodies/entities under it's control. The Operator-Doppelganger, that haunts us the players (especially in the orbiters), and Albrecht-Doppelganger, that haunts Albretch. There could be a Parvos-Doppelganger and a Baro-Doppelganger, even a Lotus-Doppelganger, since those 3 are heavily implied to have made direct deals with Wally, which both the Operator and Albrecht had done, and made them true targets for Wally. From what I can tell, The Void can essentially copy anything (Oull), but heavily prefers to copy the entity it is currently interacting with, with some exceptions. The Void is a mirror of Reality, in a sense. This is a massive headache for lorefans, since we can't really tell if the Albrecht we are talking to and is being shown, is actually the REAL Albrecht. This was shown in the ARG leading to 1999, because the Albrecht that was leading the people in that ARG turned out to be Wally himself pretending to be Albrecht. That ARG is also hinted to be the reason why the Techrot Virus known as the boyband "On-Lyne" managed to spread to the future/current WF time. This has lead to a rather crazy theory among lore-nerds and story-fans: What if the Albrecht we knew is actually the Void that escaped during the first meeting of Albrecht and the Void. And the true, original Orokin Albrecht was trapped in the Void and became the Man in the Wall? Rap-Tap-Tap, does sound like someone desperately trying to wear down the Wall of Lohk, to try and escape the Void. It would explain why the so-called "Indifference" is so angry, petty, arrogant and hostile to anything that tries to stop it. Because those are classic Orokin traits. And the current Albrecht is so awkward, bizarre, and detached yet obsessed, because it is a Void entity that is still trying to learn how it is to be a mortal human.

Also, even taking into account Albrecht might turn out to be just another Orokin in terms of his attitude, the possibility he was sitting alone in the void for thousands of years desperately trying to punch through the wall of Lohk to origin system is kinda bone-chilling. i prefer to believe that Albrecht is like any orokin who refused to partake of the kuva, someone who is human but has forgotten their humanity, Loid helped see that part of himself more over time, which is why hes awkward sometimes, like a person who doesn't know common sense things that humans would know. From what i can tell, the man in the wall is warframes version of narolethotep, which makes the tenno a warlock of sorts. In return for powers, he sees the origin system through our eyes. He shows up as the universe is being thrown into entropy because without people, the universe is indifferent, which is why albrect sends you back to get to know the hex as people. If he is allowed into the system, it's over even for a force as powerful as the tenno

The only other resource like this is kuva, which seems to come from literal thin air so there are likely other beings like the man in the wall and one may be related to it as it has multiple world changing powers

I think the issue is that one of the main traits needed to successfully use transference over long periods of time is empathy. “The Ability to Look at a Broken, Ugly Thing And Take Away Its Pain” Empathy and love are poison to the Indifference, and that is why it can’t just hijack warframes at will

When we rescue him from Rusalka, that’s also him. The scene during the Core Containment, I’m not so sure, but I’d say yes because after getting the good ending it is clear he was setting Drifter on a path to get close to the Hex.

Changing the Man in the Wall's name to "the Indifference" has been THE most confusing part of the Entrati arc. Took me until 1999 to realize what the fuck the Cavia was talking about, thought it was a rivaling void entity like the four chaos gods of WH40K, which would explain why the Angels and the Murmur have such different designs despite being void entities.

I don’t think Albrecht is in “kahoots” with the Indifference. Albrecht has shown some kind of… loyalty? to the Tenno by hinting to us that the only way to truly save the Hex is with love. By getting to know them better, the Hex begins to trust us and we are able to use transference on each of them to help them through the finale. Without Albrecht’s advice, we wouldn’t have been able to save 1999. That said, I’m still not sure what Albrecht is trying to do. I know he went to 1999, and the Indifference followed him there. The lore is fascinating, though.

@ A rich and bountiful world, probably. I imagine Tau to be a paradise, or like Eden. All I know is, the Sentients have control over the Tau system and will do everything in their power to protect it from human corruption. The Sentients were sent there by the Orokin after the Zariman efforts failed. The Sentients’ goal was to terraform Tau, and be its caretakers. The Sentients grew fiercely protective of Tau, and realized that the Orokin would only try and corrupt Tau like they did with the Sol System, so the Sentients are now Tau’s solitary guardians. I imagine the reason why the Indifference cannot access Tau is because it needs a human emotion to cling to. It’s just my guess.

The Albrecht with Wally was a Wally taken version, the one in the 1st 1999 cutscene is also Wally (technically), the Albrecht that is in 1999 is the real one and he bailed before the Reset

The entire 1999 quest is based on the mission Albrecht sets to trying escaping from Indifference. The reason why he wants to escape from Indifference is he was already haunted or somehow possessed by it, so he had to figure a way to escape or bail so he can have time and energy to focus on his work. So here comes the 1999 quest, where Albrecht wants to alter the timeline so he can "escape" just like the stories in Terminator series. Fortunately, Indifference can't possess multiple bodies at the same time, so Albrecht could have time to figure out how to bail. However, Indifference seems to have found Albrecht bailing so it keeps him hostage while possessing Scaldra female boss. Anyway, I think DE lacks of ability to write logical and fluent scripts or plots, unless DE just wants to keep the story more and more ambiguous so the game can be kept alive and active.

I want to know how the Man in the Wall became that entity. Were they always like that? What actually *is* the Void? Was it actually a prison? Are there more entities like the Man in the Wall? So many questions... At the end of the War with Balas, I thought the Man in the Wall was an entity responsible for the Void. Is that not the case? First meeting when we learned about him in the Chains of Harrow quest, I knew it was something beyond evil. The Devil would look like a good guy in comparison.

You should probably check Albrecht’s requiem chamber. The story he tells there throws some light into the nature of the Indifference, and how he blames himself from creating this thread. So it seems The Indifference was actually created by him being the first human ever who directly interacted with the Void.

The Indifference is basically an eldritch void entity that’s essentially the reason everything in the lore happened. As for Big Al fleeing, I got nothing. Best guess, it was to keep Loid (and by extension, the Origin System) safe since Wally (community’s name for The Indifference) seems to want him for something that we don’t know yet, though if I were to guess, it would have to do with Wally’s missing finger As the fish with the big brain said: “So long as The Indifference is missing a digit, it is confined to the strands of Khra” meaning that if Wally got their finger back, everyone’s cooked

I thought the proto frames (that we see) were custom made by entrati in 1999 using what he saw the orokin do with the infestation to make the frames we know and love. However Alberect was able to not destroy the proto frames minds, making them different from all our current frames (except arguably umbra) in that they have their minds and personalities from before becoming a protoframe, that are still... People.

Warframe is LITTERALLY about love and kindess. The entire story is Anti-Nihilism. "it was something else. It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly broken thing...and take away its pain." Family, emotional strength, and love have been a constant part of the main story of Warframe. If we do not use love and friendship to defeat the Void, that would be completely out of character for the entire theme.

No... Wally is the sentience of the void that took shape because albrecht stepped across it from his big portal door. That was when the 'identity' of the indifference was made. It's all a synonym. The lidless eye, wally, man in the wall, the indifference all refers to the same thing which is the consciousness of the void
