The winter inversion is depressing and very unhealthy. We lived there for over 20 years and moved away for that reason.

Tons of great riding near Salt Lake. Awesome place to live. I manage the trails out in Eagle Mountain - let me know and we'll give you a tour of the trails! And you can ride most of the winter, btw. Don't let them fool you. From even local trails like Eagle Mountain to Southern Utah, riding is accessible a lot of the year! And a huge variety of trail types.

I live at the mouth of Provo Canyon for 20 years and now I’ve lived in Mesa/Phoenix next to Hawes for the last 20. Both places are great, but I’m able to get away a little bit bit easier and for a longer season in Phoenix. Either way you’ll need to find a place where you can get away during the off-season. In Utah, you can hit up St. George and Moab. And Arizona we go to Sedona and Flagstaff for long weekend trips.
