injuries just happen sometimes, i was in a situation myself where i got injured and had to quit cheer. your health obviously should come first. alyssa isn't in the right shape to do the routine so the team won't benefit having her there for competitions. she should quit and get her surgery and heal. stuff like that just happens and you gotta deal with it

4 and a half months ago tore my Meniscus at cheer. Let me tell you no pain that I have ever felt compared to that. I've dislocated my hip 3 times at cheer and those three times combined can not even measure up. I had my surgery and I still have a good 3 to 4 months of extensive physical therapy and the possibility of not cheering next season. She shouldn't risk it. As cheerleaders we dedicate our bodies to this sport and there is a line that has to be drawn, she needs the surgery.

I'm a worlds athlete at Cheer Athletics, and we are allowed to chew gum in the gym. We all do it because it helps prevent that dry-mouth feeling during intensive practices.

as a disabled person, dancer and ex gymnast, its not worth it. i have missed out on so much of my life because of my disability and seeing someone saying they would rather do a few competitions and then never be able to walk again than do the thing that will definitely prevent it hurts a lot. people have no idea of the challenges disabled people face daily, the discrimination and hardships we have to face is something you do not understand even if you think you do. its never worth it and you will regret it.

This season is such a tough one for smoed. A team where stunt groups are not consistent this close to comp is kinda doomed to fail. Though smoed is so amazing, their work ethic alone will get them through this season. I personally believe they work the hardest. CEA and all the other gyms are amazing, though something about smoeds drive puts the above everyone else. I have no doubt that they can come back from this. I have never seen a team get this much bad news after bad news. Smoed is doing extremely well considering they lost 1 of their best flyers. They lost half of last seasons team, and they still don't have a complete team. I am so proud of them for continuing to push so hard.

I did the same with dance. I have horrible knees but I kept going but now i had to stop because my doctor said "you either dance for a couple more years and not walk for the rest of your life or take a break and be able to walk and dance."

It doesn't make sense to blame Jessica regardless of the grips.. They tried lots of people in her spot and no one could make it go and now Madi isn't flying because no one could make it hit. So she obviously wasn't the problem

Hannah Pae She didn't say they were bad. Smoed is still a great team.. but after one piece of the puzzle is lost it's hard to regroup sometimes and get back into the grove of performing together. Especially when it's your best and point flyer that leaves. But I'm sure Madi will step up and do really good, it just takes time.

A team is multiple people working towards one goal. The team is not broken with out Gabi they have to just work harder and fine someone who can consistently hit the main stunt.

In my opinion, Smoed was already struggling at the beginning of this season. The entire team doesn't seem to be meshing as well as they used to, and that's not just because Gabi left. Maybe Gabi left because Smoed was struggling and she wanted to try a different team where the members worked together more effectively? We'll never know.

Clearly she is putting herself first rather than her team. If she truly cared about SMOED she wouldn’t even hesitate to leave the team and go get surgery rather than try to be selfish and stay on. She is wasting the coach’s and team’s time when they could be bring in an athlete that isn’t injured and practicing with them.

Teams are separated by gender and size. The team Dylan's on is a large coed team. But smoed is small coed. So they wouldn't compete against each other
