Sugar Gliders | Monthly Cage Cleaning Routine

Had my suggies for a whole week now and OMG I love them! My two little black faces showed me some love today. Cardi the female let me pet her and she nuzzled into my fingertip and her brother, Sirius Blackface stuck his head out of the pouch and licked my finger and they both dropped back down. Lilly is coming around, she loves yogurt drops and the plastic egg I placed in their hanging bed. Getting a mosquito net tent for us very soon to help with bonding. Thank you for everything you have shown me about my new best friends!

@@DoItSoonTutorials they are doing awesome, all 3 come to me and will sit on my hands and eat mealworms ans other treats. They still try to nibble my fingers some but I just twist my fingers so they dont hurt me, but they arent doing that so much any more. All three of them pop their head out of the pouch when they hear me talking so I guess they are starting to like me some. They also allow mw to pet them when they're sitting in my hands it's awesome.

I use F10 VETERINARY disinfectant, so yes - if it is marked as safe for animals, you can use it 😊

I have a Madagascar cage from exotic nutrition and I have two suggies in it. How frequently should I spot clean and how frequently should I deep clean? Thanks!

Smell it, it depends on how much it smells or how dirty it is. If you use glider kitchens then you don't have to spot clean as often as people that don't use glider kitchens. Some people never do spot cleaning, some do it once or twice a week, some daily. I always check, if the cage isn't very dirty then there is no need for spot cleaning, I just clean their wheel 😊 I don't really have a schedule for it, I just clean whenever necessary. Same with deep cleaning. I do it about once every 4-6 weeks, sometimes even faster if the cage got especially dirty.

I miss my suggies so much they are such adorable awesome pets my. I only ever had two at a time but I owned three Rory Amy and jack Rory was the sweetest thing ever, and so was Amy but Amy only liked me 😅, jack was a pain but I loved him but lord was he mean 😂 I miss them to death I had to rehome mine sadly because we were moving and I didn’t have the room for them and I didn’t want to put them through the stress of moving 😭 they have such spunky personalities and I love them to death I would definitely own suggies again

I would really love to know how to solve my roach problem😭. I've never had a roach issue until I got my sugar gliders and I just cant seem to permanently get rid of them. I've watched so many videos on how to clean their cages and so many different responses on how often to clean them. I do know and now realize how much they do really smell but is there a way to control that and I way I can get rid of my infestation? I change their food every 2 night and in between days I rinse it to make sure it keeps being fresh and get rid of anything that goes to the litter tray but I dont know why these roaches keep coming. Please help! How can I keep the suggies from smelling too much and roach free?

First of all, you need to give them fresh food daily, as part of a healthy staple diet. Only dried food, like dried fruit and/or veggies can be kept in the cage for longer than 12 hours. As for cleaning, I have a separate video on how often I clean the cage and how I do it, if you want to check it out. I have never heard of gliders causing roach infestations, normally the infestation is somewhere else....what you can do is mop your floors weekly with simple water and a few drops of eucalyptus oil. That helped me a lot against ants 🙂

@@AwesomeSugarGliderMommy THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR TAKING THE TIME TO ANSWER! And yes I will go ahead and watch the video you suggested. I know it's not common with roaches which is why I took the chance to just ask someone with lots of experience like you. When I adopted my 3 new females not to long ago they came from a horrible unsanitary home already with roaches and I dont know if thats what caused my infestatin. Their pouches and cage were very dirty and sticky too. I washed everything when I arrived home and cleaned their cage with Clorox and water and made sure to rinse afterwards. But these roaches keep coming back and I have no idea why. But i will try your suggestions right away! THANKYOU AGAIN!. Also, where can I get the f10 V.D. that you mentioned in your video?

@@ffjklj Thankyou so much for that...it seems as no matter what I do these roaches keep coming back....I've tried cleaning every day. Changing their food every day...changing their fresh food to frozen and no matter what I try they just pop out of nowhere and currently now they made their way all over the house and I really cant take it. I've even found one under me all squished while I was sleeping.. i had to move them to my boyfriend's house too becuase they smell really bad and becuase of the roaches, I've also tried putting the red raid under and around ther cage or under their litter tray so they wont go on the cage but they do eventually, or they just start to go around the room they are at😓😓...any tips on how to control that really bad smell coming out of them? I've heard about alternating pouches may work but wouldn't that just be the same if theive already marked them? I dont know...any tips that helps would be greatly appreciated. And Thankyou again, I have to go clean their cage again since my bfs already says it smells around the house...I'ma try to water pressure it down to see how that works aswel before I start with the raid😓
