As far as I know (from what I've read in many Korean online Gunpla communities and social accounts) lots of Korean builders decided not to enter this year's round due to the ongoing, unusually high tension between Korea and Japan, which was initiated by Japan's decision to mess with bilateral trade between the two countries. Currently there is a huge scale voluntary boycott against the Japanese consumer goods among the general public in Korea. But still, the builders who entered the contest really showed off mad skills. And as you pointed out, those junior builders are awesome. AND the fact that every single damn entry gets its own display space.......!!!!!

@@AwesomeToysTV Oh yeah. I know Josh Darrah took two years for his winning GBWC entry. I've been trying to make custom armor plates and metal pipes for a backpack for months. I don't know what I'm doing so I messed up the parts, had to reorder the kit, redo all my work, now I have a broken hand to heal, and still haven't even gotten to practice my air brush yet. This is goin to take forever, but its gonna be awesome.
