Kind of interesting to see how his fighting style has changed over the years. He used to basically just be the sword ability but now he’s flying around, firing sword beams and Mach tornadoes and has even started throwing tons of rocks at you and occasionally duplicating himself. Give the puffball credit, he never stops improving.

​@@quentonfrancis2616 the duplication sorta did stick around, it's just only *phantom* meta knight that uses it for one move, when it wants to catch you in its upper caliber, it'll spawn one other doppelgänger (probably only for phase 2 though) - so it's pretty subtle but still here (also, see kirby fighter 2 fight. it's a spinoff game that's pretty much post-star allies, and the duplication is shown in the vid...)

I've always loved how Meta Knight has always been more of anti hero, usually just fighting Kirby to test him or train, never really out to do harm, except in Revenge of Meta Knight where he just decided to go crazy and be evil for a bit for no particular reason other than I guess for the lols.

tbf it was the early games, and idk if i would even call that evil considering dreamland's inhabitants are quite lazy to leave it up to kirby to save them every time. it might have been more of him being extreme but meaning good rather than outright villainous behavior, and since then he's learned not to overstep even for the greater good. least, thats the only in character justification i can think of lol

He had a reason, it was a bit extreme though. He didn’t like that the citizens of Dream Land were living a lazy and carefree lifestyle so he wanted to make a change to it. That change just happened to be launching a full scale attack trying to overthrow the kingdom.

I've always loved that Meta Knight throws Kirby a sword. He REFUSES to fight Kirby on uneven ground in most cases. It was even a clue that Dark Meta Knight was an impostor.

In Star Allies, you can comically anger Meta Knight into triggering an alternate intro animation if you refuse to get the sword for about 20 seconds or fly up to the platform that he stands on

@@patrisowka2010 actually in the boss fight with meta knight and phantom meta knight you can parry their lariot attack using sword kirby and cause them to lose galaxia. Then you can steal galaxia to turn into meta knight sword and they come back with the original sword.

Fun Fact: In Kirby and forgotten land, when he dashed at you, Hit B and spam B a lot then when he gets knocked out, take his sword stabbed into the ground and then meta knight will fly out and grab his old sword. Edit: Possibility you can do it with Phantom Meta Knight

At this point, I'm convinced Nintendo/HAL has changed MK's wings to being an actual part of his body that he can magically turn into a cape - not a cape that happens to be magic. In most all of the 3D games, Meta Knight has been depicted as having the wings being his natural state - like that's just what he normally looks like, and he's able to turn his wings into a cape at will. That's what it feels like to me, at least.

it just doesn't feel right to me how his moveset keeps increasing but the fights only get easier since super star. In amazing mirror's first fight he is slow. In squeak squad despite having elemental attacks he is as slow as he was in amazing mirror. And the platforms make it even easier. In epic yarn he spends most of his time flying around and it is just slower than his flight in super star. In robobot's first fight against mecha knight he is slow and has some attacks that don't fit into his moveset well. like the lasers and missiles, and in the second fight he is even slower bc of his claw attacks. In star allies he is slower, he takes like 3 whole seconds to recover from being stunned and the helpers just make an easy battle even easier, in phase 2 he is even slower with his weird purple energy orb attack that takes like a minute to charge up. And in forgotten land he spends a lot of time just recovering after attacking and most of his attacks can be avoided by just floating around. It's kind of weird how he is supposed to get stronger after each game but the battles only get easier.
