I learnt he busted into tears when he saw crowd at national stadium when he came on stage to perform. That was his first time in Nigeria, he couldn't believe his eyes when he saw the crowd. That's actually the reason for the ose baba song it's just his little way to say thank you to Nigerians by singing in one of the Languages (Yoruba). Good to see he''s still waxing strong.

Music is never about understanding the message. It is about the beats and the energy. Who can beat Awilo? How else could my upbringing in that small village in Central Kenya have been without Awilo? Dancing everywhere, in school, along the road to and from school, home compound, when playing football on village footpaths, in the forest fetching wood and so many other places. You were revered if you could come close to dancing like this guy. Awilo deserves a nobel prize if he hasn't already.
