Chu’s decision to bring the groundbreaking film to the big screen instead of Netflix. “It was really to make the statement that this story was worth telling in this big pantheon of cinematic history,” Holding said.

Just saw the movie today and it was awesome. Alot can be related the storyline was beautiful. Got laughter, romance, family and more. So happy that this is first Asian cast after 25yrs of Asian movie.

I saw it today and I fell asleep. Thank god I downloaded it. What a piece of dogshit. Talented cast though. Nora is insanely talented, but the "Asian Asian Asian Asian Asian" drumbeat wears thin very fast. Didnt realize Ken Cheong apparently also wrapped up in some kind of Asian-identity trauma thing. Poor poor poor medical doctor you. And that Henry guy, eventually the fact his dad is white is gonna catch up with him and his "Asianess" is going to be vilified by the tribal purists. Hey, keep those tribal drums beating though. Yugoslavia here we come. Hope our race wars also only last a sloppy decade or so. SMFH........

I love how Henry calls Awkwafina by her real name (Nora) during the interview. I saw the movie and honestly I think the three comics they cast, Awkwafina, Jimmy O. Yang, and Ronnie Chieng were absolutely perfect in the roles they portrayed. Awkawafina with this movie and Ocean's Eight is getting ready to explode in the Hollywood stratosphere and good for her.

Agree. Binaural beats usually takes me about 20-30 minutes to fall asleep but this movie had me out cold within less than 10 minutes. Cannot recommend it enough. Best sleep therapy I've used in _years_ .
