One holiday is too extreme. Maybe just a “don’t drop by unannounced” clause

I get this guys point if view. My sister in law has lived with us for 4 years. I would gladly have her pop up as opposed to her living with us. Better to lay it out there before the wedding as opposed to 4 years in.

When they will have children and they will both have important meetings, they will go ask the in-laws if they want to help babysit. I hope the in-laws will refer to the prenup and that there are no more visits that year. Or, would that be an emergency pop in? Because it is suitable for them? Fucked up.

Wow, that women doesn't care about him at all. The way she talked to him. Issue aside, communication is key to a healthy relationship and this communication out of control. I wouldn't marry her.

He should cancel the engagement if she and the parents don’t respect those boundaries. It will only get worse once they have keys and your married, they will come stay weekends unannounced.

This is, without reservation, the most American marriage contract I've ever heard of. Classic.

That's 1 pop in every 3 months, 1 holiday, and 2 more visits whenever and truthfully I hate my MIL and I am still on her side that that's way too little contact, especially if they live so close
@doitlikethebereans16905 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'd be breaking off that engagement immediately. No one is going to dictate when my parents can and can't come over. That doesn't belong in a prenup. And I won't be negotiating anything regarding the visiting of my parents who raised me, put up with me, loved me, and helped me through life. This is just absurd.

I’m guessing her parents are retired or something if they have that much time on their hands to be visiting her all the time. I do understand the guy though, it be hella annoying. I live in the same city as my parents but they never visit me so I’m the one that have to visit them but it’s only like 1 time per week

1.] Sounds like a classic Everybody Loves Raymond scenario. 2.] Despite that, I would _never_ marry a man who forbade my parents from visiting in a prenup. That is so many levels of jacked up. What he _should_ have done is talk with his future wife, level with her, and tell her he feels they are being too intrusive. That when people get married they're to leave and cleave, not constantly be bombarded by family. A boundary needs to be set, not a jacked up ultimatum like this.

Why the hell do people call into a radio show and have these random goobers give terrible life changing advice?! PUBLICLY!!!!!
@joshgoldenberg90145 жыл бұрын
Because they’re good at it! Because people actually appreciate them. Because it’s a good idea. I just don’t like how people insult this show publicly. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean insult them i’m not saying you can’t have an opinion but don’t insult them just because you don’t like them
