You play as a multitude of characters here, but this game mainly focuses on Henry Creel and his journey to being what is known as "Vecna". He is the ultimate villain of the series. I suggest watching Stranger Things first to better know what the fuss is all about. Chapter One: A Nightmare -You play as Vecna in a nightmare as he relives daunting memories. Chapter Two: The Mind Lair -You play as Vecna in his mindscape as he penetrates minds of Demogorgons (the creatures with spiky faces), Demobats (the flying creatures), and his victims - Virginia (his mother) and Alice (his sister). Chapter Three: The Possession of Will Byers -You now play as Will as he is being possessed by Vecna. Chapter Four: The Spy -You play as Vecna as he attempts to possess the children and spy on them. Though resulting in failure for Mike, Lucas, and Dustin with their strong minds, he weakens Will due to his trauma. Chapter Five: Transcending the Human Form -You play as Vecna as he relives a memory; failing to beat Eleven and being sent to another dimension known as the Upside Down, and finally controlling the Hive Mind. Chapter Six: The Possession of Billy Hargrove -You play as Billy, Max's stepbrother, as Vecna works his way towards possessing him due to a bundle of his hidden trauma. Chapter Seven: The Trap is Sprung -You now play as the Spider Monster as it wrecks Hopper's cabin. The perspective then shifts to Eleven as she loses her powers. Chapter Eight: Eleven -You play as Eleven as Dr. Brenner helps her restore her powers through reliving her life in the laboratory - more specifically, the Rainbow Room, to face her fears and release her trauma. Chapter Nine: The Resurrection of Mad Max -You play as Eleven as she tries to save Max from her mind being corrupted after Vecna kills her. She sees Max's various memories and ultimately ends up saving her life.
