I can say my Dev associates definitely helped me get a gig. It wasn't an automatic hire for having the cert but it was a way to differentiate myself

I've found when interviewing juniors that more of them had certs than didnt. I guess it depends where in the world you are

This is such an insightful video 💡- I love the comparison of "knowing the theory" vs. "knowing how to implement/do the task." Very applicable to development from what I've seen. The time I've spent to learn a cert. usually becomes infinitely less valuable compared to the time I've spent to build real world projects. Also, I loved seeing your fire-spinning skills 🔥

You don't (normally) get paid to just know things. You get paid to do things. The fire spinning was something I've always wanted to try and this was a great excuse to do it.

I completely agree. Once you've got a year of AWS work under your belt then validating that with a Cert is a great idea. If you're spending time studying for a cert before you've ever had a job working on AWS, I think that time could be better spent on improving your skills.
