For windows it quite simple where you can see SSM Run command to reset the Administrator password using net user administrator password within run command [module is run-powershellscript] .. Check my SSM playlist to understand it better ..

@@Cloud4DevOps thanks for reply..but in case SSM agent not installed, then will it be possible to reset through SSM?

@@panchalchetan0 thats correct , mostly all new windows new AMIs are coming up with SSM agent , lets say if you dont have SSM agent installed and you want to reset password then one way i know is create AMI of that machine then provision with the key you already have with SSM role attached to server so that you can manage server from SSM.. Other way is same you can do which is hard way and not looks that good where take the snanpshot of good instance convert that into volume and attach that to lost key instance as root volume and install application on top of that.. This is 2 step kind of a process when it comes to windows side of word. Hope that clarifies
