AWS Snowmobile is an exabyte-scale data transfer service used to move extremely large amounts of data to AWS. You can transfer up to 100PB per Snowmobile, a 45-foot long rugged sized shipping container, pulled by a semi-trailer truck. Snowmobile makes it easy to move massive volumes of data to the cloud, including video libraries, image repositories, or even a complete data center migration. Well it depends on how close the onprem datacenter is to the AWS datacenter and also making sure that the truck doesn't collide with some other object midway going too fast.

Amazon probably owns the trucks, and will hire a trucker as needed. I doubt that they have the need for a 7 day a week driver. Then Amazon will get its staff to hook up the datacentre to the truck.

Hi, Transferring data from your data center on to snowmobile is FREE - its part of the migration plan. But the other-way will cost you a bomb :) I mean if you wish to take the data back from AWS to your data center on snowmobile will lead to bankruptcy I guess. :) I invite experts comment on this..
