Thank you Nick. When we know the tech we can work with anything. Most importantly we architects we can’t have a preferred tech, we must care about making our customers successful. Whether it’s an ice machine, new router or object storage - what ever best meets the customers business needs is the tech we should choose.

Would you agree that SOME cars need "special" training? For example, stick shifts or high performance vehicles...V8, V12, V16,... ~1000+ hp, etc? Even experienced/pro drivers struggle with these vehicles (even mortem) a la Fast & Furious.
@GoCloudArchitects2 жыл бұрын
No we would not agree any car needs special training We believe some drivers need special training to use a vehicle for extreme use. Many of us with a tactical background or racing background have been through special training. Guess what the training applies to all vehicles Ambulances, fire engines, police cars it’s the same driving course. It’s called EVOC and I have enjoyed the training. Sure each vehicle has idiosyncrasies but a properly trained driver can drive anything. So we don’t look for excuses where perhaps less then 1 percent of the time something is different. We focus on the 99 percent plus when you train the driver.

Technical people usually lack the basic knowledge of how people learn. It is easy to say start from the concept and not the details, but in reality, most of us learn by doing. We need to get that S3 or whatever configured first to put it into perspective. Not everyone is capable of becoming a good architect, but you can even if you start from hands-on. Just don't keep too long on the details and move on to the next cloud technology.
@GoCloudArchitects2 жыл бұрын
Almost Everyone is capable of being a physician, lawyer or cloud architect if they work Farr enough Unfortunately you can’t learn design by doing. You can learn administration by doing. Here I will tech you how to use a hammer, sad and drill Next I will ask you do design a hotel. Do you think learning to be a construction worker will teach you how to design a hotel (architect work) That’s why you retain people who learned by doing every day. As they are great at doing, but they have no idea how to design.
@Greenthum62 жыл бұрын
@Go Cloud Architects It doesn't hurt to know how a hammer works when architecting a hotel design. Knowing practical things leverages your wisdom and may motivate to go further. I mean the world is not black and white. You can ask an architect does he/she ever learned how to use a hammer. And if yes, why spend time on it because it doesn't help you to design a house. Maybe the hammer was an important catalyst to start your architecting career. I learn new tech nearly every day at work and freetime, especially cloud stuff. Doing proof of concepts using the new building blocks helps my learn process a lot. But it is just part of the journey. I read thousands of times more than write.
@GoCloudArchitects2 жыл бұрын
@@Greenthum6 that’s totally fine. Just remember the more time the architect spends leaning construction the less time they will have to master being an architect. And for people that want to be enthusiasts and know a little about a lot of things that’s great. But it keeps someone from being an expert. But not everyone wants to be an expert and that’s fine too

Hi Guillermo, Thank you for your service! We have a special program for veterans and even offer a 50 percent off coupon code for veterans. Our focus is on the full career transition from military to civilian life not just the tech skills. This includes changing leadership styles from command and control to those in the civilian world. We also teach most elite business skills. Things which are not taught in most transition programs that focus on certifications as opposed to building elite careers. We have chosen to function in an independent manner so we are not bound by any rules and can teach what’s needed to help out veterans build the most high paying cloud careers. But our fee are about. 1-2 days pay for our average graduate. Our focus is keeping costs low and the best outcomes.

@dzyanis2 жыл бұрын
Mike, I do not think they asking you the question "which service do I need to learn?". I think they need advice on which company (Amazon, Google, IBM, etc) provides better training to learn cloud technologies. And there is no easy answer as per my understanding.
@GoCloudArchitects2 жыл бұрын
Dennis the question we get asked every day js which cloud do I learn. We don’t get asked which service to learn. I’m any case all clouds are really just a network and datacenter which is virtualized. And in most cases in order to learn the cloud - you cannot go to a cloud provider as they teach their services and not the actually technology. Meaning it’s meaningless if we get our object storage from Dell/EMC, AWS S3, Azure blob, or even google cloud storage. In many cases it’s even running in the same tech in each providers datacenter. And the answer is very simple, if you understand the underlying technology you understand all clouds.

I wish I found your channel eons ago instead of just recently. Essentially what you're saying is don't be quick to be vendor-specific. The focus should be on cloud computing technology and I think one way to do that is to study CompTIA Cloud+ because it's all about cloud computing and not a specific vendor. I'm not interested in the CompTIA certification per se. I'm really just interested in what it teaches. I think that along with python scripting and a couple other things should give me a pretty strong foundation. I'm really enjoying your videos and your Insight. Thank you so much!
@GoCloudArchitects2 жыл бұрын
Hi Cruzan9, We want to help you! We said focus on the tech. Learn the cloud. We are Not recommending any Comptia certifications as that won’t be close to enough to get a job. Cloud computing has significant network and datacenter concepts. We are saying to learn them not certification skills. Also why do you want to learn python. We also don’t just recommend python or any other skills. We determine the career and then the skills needed for that career For example a cloud architect designs an end to end solution to solve customer business problems. There is no coding in this job and learning it is not a valuable skill. By comparison for a cloud engineer which is a different career then leaning Linux, python, terraform etc are needed skillls. So we need to learn the skills for the job we want and not someone else’s. Why don’t you save yourself a lot of trial and error and come to our free webinar. There you can tell us what career you desire and we can help you build a roadmap to get hired as fast as possible. www.gocloudarchitects.com/free-cloud-webinar/
