Great reaction my man, just subbed for your Tom journey....another of his spoken words is "War is Coming" so good...One of his little gems that some overlook is Tom Macdonald " THE WAY I AM " Eminem remix....Another Independent artist you should check out is Adam Calhoun, both his solo stuff and he has 2 collaboration albums with Tom Macdonald.

I enjoyed your perspective and analysis. Tom's talent has a broad range. I at first felt he was corny, and I brushed him off. But seeing his other stuff changed my mind. Lol, he even has a song titled "I'm corny," addressing the critics that feel the same way I did. My favorite songs of his are the ones that criticizes the rap industry. "Dear rappers" and "I hate hiphop" come to mind.

Loved your reaction! Tom talks about his struggles in some of his music-he suffers from depression and anxiety, is a recovering alcoholic, lived in the worse area of Los Angeles and was dead broke just before finally breaking out with "Dear Rappers". He is 100% independant, no labels, no manager. Nova is his videographer and long-time girlfriend ( and a rapper in her own right). His "team" is his mom, dad, sister Jenna and her husband.

This a heavy song. So much different than The System. Tom admits that he's not perfect and struggles. Some of his background in songs Sober and Church, which is one of my favorites! ❤

Ren is an amazing independent artist. He is from Wales/Brighton UK. The first song to do from him is "Hi Ren". In many ways he is like Tom. Very versatile and creative. You won't be disappointed. As a Tom suggestion, Castles or I Wish are both good songs. For a lighter side try Buttholes or Everyone Hates Me.

Dax is also independent, he is in a few of Tom's videos. He has an entire catalog of amazing music but produced and released "To be a man". After he had other independent artists submit a verse, The result was one of the most powerful songs ever recorded. Even if you don't react to it, (its around 12 minutes long), pick one of your Friday nights and listen with the wife. Be prepared to have your heart ripped out.
