I love, love this performance. I remember when it was released this song got me so emotional, especially JK'S part the climax of the song. Yes this song was released when they knew they were going on hiatus to do solo projects while they each do their mandatory military service but Army didn’t know it yet. It’s a shout out to Army, to their own youth which they knew they were leaving going into their 30s, and I think kind of an homage to one of their earlier classic songs called Young Forever. Their album Proof that came out last year was a look back at their 9 years together. It only had 3 new songs on it: this one, Yet to Come about how they weren’t done yet, and Run BTS which is kind of what they attributed their success to. They just put their foot on the gas & ran hard for 10 years straight and never looked back. One part of the song was a shout out to each individual and how hard they worked. Again when they released it no one knew yet about their hiatus but once that was known each of the 3 songs made perfect sense! Always the storytellers.

You got it, it's for ARMY. Sometimes they write a song that's simple and heartfelt, and give it to us. They still perform the hell out of it, because they can, because they enjoy it. For Youth is one of so many songs just for us. They mean every word. Your face when Jimin came in the first time, man, I loved it. His voice gives you chills, huh? And you couldn't stop smiling. For this one, they're also each showing their unique vocal colors. They also did Yet to Come that day. They're genuinely amazing singers. All the vocal line songs are great, and in general, if there's a live performance where they're standing still you're in for a treat. There's a live of Dimple and Pied Piper back to back that's really fun. A lot of the vocal-heavy or vocal line songs are heartbreaking one way or another. The Truth Untold is one of the best, and House of Cards. Your Eyes Tell. Butterfly. Film Out. Crystal Snow. There's no live of Louder Than Bombs but it's great. Haunting. When you're ready to cry, Spring Day will be there. Let us know when you want to check it out - I think you'll want a little context. There's an NPR tiny desk you'd probably love, actually. We Are Bulletproof: the Eternal is one where the video is part of what makes it special. I don't think you're ready for that one quite yet (lots of inside references) but when you are I want to be there. 😁 And this is without any of their solos. All four vocalists have solo songs. Every time I hear this I cry. This is like a lovely letter to ARMY, saying that we will always be together.
