The thing about Kenny is that his character in season 1 is all about loyalty and family above anything else. Dissing his family is dissing him and he'll view you negatively because of that. The logical decisions that players make more than often result in responses that result in Kenny being either negative or neutral towards you. IMO the only people who get Kenny to like them on 1st playthrough are people who clearly make favorites based on first impressions

I love the game man, but in hindsight i hate how they handled the decisions that matter with Kenny. All the odds are stacked against his decision not because he's wrong but always 'cause of something else. Like: -Duck or Shawn: Kid is at fault for the situation, so in the moment, why would you wanna save him? -Larry: Kenny's right, and everyone hates Larry, but we don't wanna finish him in front of her daughter. -Car: He's right, you need it, BAD, and how probable is it that the owners are alive? But Clem doesn't like it so you don't do it. Like, for all these, it's not that you don't agree, or like him, it's always something else.

No matter how wrong it felt, I think Kenny was in the right to smash Larry's brains in, and that's not just because I hate him. It's not easy to bring someone back after they had a heart attack and none of them in that room had any expertise in medical field. So, who knows if they were even doing it right? But even with experience, it still wouldn't be easy to revive someone. It would take long either way so Larry would've turned before they even get the chance to revive him. In that situation, I would only side with Lilly for Clementine's sake and considering that there really might be a chance. But logically speaking, Kenny is in the right. Larry has heart problems so I doubt he'd last long anyway. Kenny had to prioritize the safety of those who are alive over for some stubborn old fart when things are pretty much too late for him. If Kenny hadn't killed Larry before he turned, his corpse could've bitten anyone there. Morally, it's right to help Lilly but logically Kenny was right. And in an apocalypse, you have to be more logical. Being kind in a life or death situation would only get you and/or your group killed so in that situation you have think of the safety of everyone who's still alive, not what's right or wrong because in the end that wouldn't really matter. Even if your group didn't like your decision, what matters is you did it for everyone's sake. Nobody said it's right to kill or leave somebody behind and nobody said you liked it; what you did was only a chance of survival. This is why I like Kenny. He would rather dirty his hands to protect his people than keep his morality just so he wouldn't feel bad.

it doesn't necessarily affect the -entire story in a major way, for example saving doug or carley doesnt mean lee doesn't die at the end, yk? more like it affects the characters, what they think of you and the dialogue at least the first game doesn't change that much, meanwhile the later seasons you really feel like your choices matter, especially at the endings

These telltale games so far only focus on building relationships from one side (you can't say the wrong thing or you'll fuck up your gameplay). But in real relationships, if I say something I think is neutral, but you get offended and bite my head off, that could change my view of you or make me angry. I can see the next step of Telltale games being more on how the relationship builds both ways. I mean like, how Krista treats Lee and affect their relationship would change the options we can play with Lee, instead of just the same script and different reactions from NPCs. If you say something that pissed Krista off and made Lee mad, you'll have more emotionally driven answers to choose from or something.

If Kenny hadn’t done what he did they were guaranteed dead to Larry. It’s also not the same as literally killing your own child. Side note, it’s also funny how Larry wanted to kill a literal child without evidence of a bite. We know what Larry would have done in that situation.

The chat is so damn annoying. Why so many people like Kenny is beyond me in the first place. Thank goodness Roshi and Sheera have some sense. He’s such a manipulative asshole. He constantly screws you over and leaves up to die unless you always screw everyone else over and side with him. Kenny isn’t perfect at all but almost everything you mentioned is a result of going against Kenny. And Lily literally acts the same way in not wanting to help or save Lee if you side against her. Though season 2 I agree with your statement so much he got worse

@@Kai-ps3tg No he’s just a super toxic and emotionally abusive and a manipulative person, that’s how he gets you to side with him in the first place. He’s a fair weather friend through and through. He doesn’t care about doing the right thing, he only cares about being right. The Larry/Duck situation is a perfect example of how hypocritical he is. He murders Larry before even trying to help, but when Duck is clearly bitten and dying he’s like “nah he’s ok just get on the train lol” yeah it’s his son, and he’s in denial, but he shouldn’t have talked a big game to Lee saying he’s just doing making the “hard choices” about Larry when he couldn’t even do that for his son. He’s selfish and doesn’t think about anyone else. He even admits that during Roshi and Sheera’s playthrough. I find Lily to be a more sympathetic character, dealing with a clearly abusive father her whole life, then thrust into an apocalypse and having to be the leader and make the hard decisions, she snapped and murders Carly/Doug which was wrong and I always leave her for it, but Kenny murders Larry and yet everyone is fine with it just because Larry was a POS. Makes no sense LOL.
