Good test, 100 years old pine is nothing to sneeze at. I have 2 knives by beaver craft and like them . The finish that they used must "raise" the grain, and I used a scraper then used olive oil and wax mix 2:1 and it works great.

After sanding it down, i was disappointed to see therough cross grain shaping they did. Not good finish work at all. The head of the axe is impressive though and that's where the work is.

👍 Nice review #1. For carving hatchets you should look at Julia Kalthoff’s hatchet (Kalthoff Axes); or, the ProCarver by Ike Bullington at Wolf Valley Forge. Both small independent firms in Sweden and Alabama. I can highly recommend both Julia and Ike.

Great video!! Impressive little axe. I don't own one but I do have a couple of their bushcraft knives and am very impressed with those.

I have a Gransfors Bruks mini axe which is so convenient to carry that it's hardly noticeable in a haversack or coat pocket but so so useful. I'm axe guy as well, with my mi ni, I really don't see a need for a knife.

@@honorableoutfitters I have the larger one that they call The Dune, but I like its little brother better, so much so I bought 2 of them. I have to quit going to Smoky Mtn Knife Works tho because my blade addiction is starting to get out of control lol!! But it doesn't help when you only live 30mins away 🤣🤗

Your videos are interesting but I hate the AI "art" you use for thumbnails. Makes me think the vidoe is gonna be AI and I end up ignoring them
@honorableoutfittersАй бұрын
I earnestly appreciate your feedback. This week I am running a click through rate test using 3 different thumbnails. One AI, one using my image in one, and one with a static image to try and see exactly what would be best. I hope you understand that to get the most people to engage and get my messages out, I need to appeal to the majority. Sadly AI has been used for "bad" and has put a bad taste in people's minds and i get it. I appreciate you watching and participating in the discussion, and it isn't just lip service. Have a happy Thanksgiving!

Why do people insist on putting sharp things on their skin or shaving the hair off their arms or fingernails why not slice through a piece of paper?
