I just got this interface about a week ago and I wanted to just jump in and let people know that this interface is great. The only thing I really don’t like is the tuner because it’s really only useful for getting you in the right ballpark. For fine tuning, if you can’t do it by ear, you’ll still need a device that offers better tuning precision. Full disclosure I’ve only used it for guitar with direct input. for microphones I still use my old interface, the Volt 276. Also, the first thing I did was rip those goofy rubber things off the sides and mount it to the underside of my desk so I could plug right into my desk. I love this thing, it’s so much nicer than going into my my other interface.

I have a large cascaded Apollo setup with a DI with a thru and a standalone reamp box that I can send back through to pedals and amps and all of that, tons of amp and effects simulations and thousands and thousands of dollars into my setup. A good friend of mine went and got the Axe I/O he brought it over and we set it up and played with it for a few hours and I was super impressed. For guitars and reamping, especially being able to use the guitar out as a thru in real-time is amazing. You can use it record your DI and send out to amp in real-time or you can use one of the amp emulations and send out to pedals or amps in real-time as an effects loop.

Great review of this interface Warren! I really like what they have going on here for guitarists. Sounds like a very solid and warm DI signal with a wide range of versatility. The focusrite is the most popular because of the youtuber shills imo. I bought a yamaha AG03 for a mic/audio setup (didn't end up using the mic) that has a dedicated guitar input like new for $100. I just ordered a guitar, and decided to also order the axe i/o for the max software bundle. I was telling myself "try the yamaha first" but sweetwater only had 2 left in stock and I wanted to do the 6 month payments. :)

And, how is the latency ?
@roxnroll80504 жыл бұрын
@@gbigbo_zjebeezjeboo - perfectly fine! As long as your settings/CPU, etc is in line, it doesn't even feel like there is latency. I tested it against my UA Arrow, and it sounds better to me. I have a question for everyone on this interface. So I already have the PreSonus StudioLive 32S as my interface for my DAW and would like to keep it that way. I know this unit has the USB interface option but I do not want to use it, I want to control everything through my board. Can this unit be plugged into my board through one of the line inputs and record just as well? Additionally, I prefer to have my pedal board connected first so that I can capture the tones of my pedals. Current setup is my guitar to pedal board to Digitech RP360 XP. I'm using the line out of the RP360 and going into a line input on my StudioLive 32S board.

That Re-amp out is very cool! why doesn't every interface have this? love the diversity of the input signal levels too. two extra outs on the back are really helpful as well. very cool interface. especially since there are so many people plugging guitars directly into their computers and amp sims.

Seems like an interesting product for guitar-playing home producers. I guess it can also be great for bass players recording at home. As a bass/keyboard/guitar -playing hobby-producer, I'm using a Roland Rubix 44 myself, which has served me very well. Good direct monitoring options too, and I found the built-in compression option quite useful in some cases. Something like a Roland Rubix 44 with a dedicated pre-amp like the AXE I/O would be perfect for me, but as it stands I'm sticking with my Roland because the AXE would be a bit too limited for me in terms of inputs etc.

I've been using this time of isolation to watch a lot of vids and research gear. After leaning toward some other stuff, I discovered this interface last night (and the Soldano and Mess plugins in Amplitude, which sound awesome). I think this will be the route that I take. Moreover, thank you for turning me back on to the T-Racks classic compressor! Something you demonstrated in one of your others videos helped me take my pseudo-mastering up a notch. :) That one feature on it--letting the bass breathe--makes quite a difference.

Great video! I was actually wondering if you've used this to record a guitar and bass simultaneously through both the instrument ins on the front of the unit, since thats what I'm planning on buying this unit for. I'm a composer looking to do a gear upgrade soon and I like having things dedicated to do one specific job and I was looking at the Axe I/O for handling guitars and keyboards and other instruments while having my other box for microphones. Would you be able to have a guitar plugged into the first input with the variable impedance and a bass directly plugged into the other input or would you still need a DI box?

Hi Yoni, the AXE I/O has 2 combo input jacks in the back, so yes thats possible.

Can you make a video on how to talk to a mixing enginner? Like what are common does or absolute don'ts. e.g. what if I like the overall sound of my mix already, can I say that? Like "I already like the sound of this one, so please don't go to experimental on it" and with other's things like "I'm not sure about this one yet, can you surprise me with something experimental?" or such. Is that a normal conversation to have with a mixing enginner? Or what about asking the enginner to tell you if he/she thinks there's something missing in my beat (e.g. drums aren't good or bassline is missing) before he/she mixes it? Is that a normal thing to ask? Would be sooo helpful! ✌

Stuck between one of these and the Audient offerings, any advice for picking one? I've been using a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 for a few years now and it's been nothing but trouble Horrible driver stability, incredibly noisy (it's not dirty power from the wall, tested on multiple desktops AND laptops in multiple settings with multiple cables), not enough headroom for my high output pickups, etc... I'm afraid that the warmth of the DI might go against what I'm looking for though, as I tune low using 7 and 8 string guitars which already have more than enough problems with low note clarity
