Thank you so much for doing this for us new Axe fx 3 users, it's so appreciated.

i didn't realize that the controller block itself had channels A-D. i'm struggling to conceive of how that could add more functions to the scene ctrl1+2 but having access to more LFO's, ADSR, Sequencer, etc. per scenes could come in handy. thanks so much for these videos. they are really improving my workflow and giving me a greater appreciation of all that the axe fx 3 is capable of doing.

Awesome! Glad it helped. At most I've only used two controllers, mainly to adjust the level of an envelope filter depending on a guitar part etc. But it's nice to have tons of options if you need it.

Maybe your best video in the series IMO. Great way to get the most flexibility out of one amp etc while saving cpu and without audio gaps. 🤠

I love watching you videos.. I’ve learned a lot about my axe 3- but brother you are so quick - I mean your mouse is running back and forth and don’t really tell us what exactly your doing… not complaining just asking you to slow down for us old guys… thanx-- “ love you generous help”. Israel

Great content and I really appreciate your videos! On a preset I have two amp blocks and have followed your video to make sure I have seamless switching and have been able to equal out levels between scenes, adjust Eq, adjust gain, etc. with the scene controllers. How do I keep the effects on/off independent of switching between scenes that use a different amp block? For example, if I am using Amp block A (clean) and click on Chorus effect and then during the song switch to a scene using the second Amp block B (more gain sound) the Chorus effect turns off and I have to click chorus again to keep it engaged. Any advice on how to fix this?

Hey Ken, instead of using scenes, you can just use a control switch to switch the bypass states between the amp blocks or use the multiplexer or regular mixer block and use that as a toggle function.

Hey Rosh, I am a new FM9 user coming from the Helix world. On Helix, we have the ability to control 8 parameters per snapshot (similar to scenes on FM9) is there a way to get more parameter control using channels B-D of the scene controller? How would that work and what does that mean for the inactive channels settings? I know it may not be necessary, but I would like to know if and how its possible. Love your vids. They have been super helpful!

You're very welcome. You can use up to 4 scene controllers per preset, they can be assigned to as many functions as you'd like, but they'd be shared. Your best bet if you need more functionality per scene is use the channel functions on each effect and set them where you'd like instead. Much easier to manage.

Needing to learn how to set individual volume and effect setting for each scene-- crunch- lead- clean- choir us etc… over all- thanx (A bit slower) Israel 🤷♂️🙂👴🏻

Rosh. When you adjust the amp level to tickle the red in the output meters do you have your guitar volume maxed? I notice that increasing the guitar volume will increase the meter levels. Thanks

Yes, I generally do. Unless there's a specific "volume knob rolled down" tone I'm looking for. I occasionally have lead sounds with my guitar volume somewhere between 7-9 for that kind of tone

I love my Axe; you ran into a problem that I run into as well - I use a controller to modify some knob or parameter in an effects block; HOWEVER - it's not overly clear which CHANNEL of the controller is being used. I wish......[yes, it's on the forum wish list] when you click on the small gold circle to add a modifier, ANY of the controllers would be listed separately for each channel. E.g. LFO 1 (Channel A), LFO 1 (Channel B), LFO 1 (Channel C), LFO 1 (Channel D), LFO 2 (Channel A), etc. -- I know this would make the pop up window to add the modifiers kind of cluttered, but it would also MAKE IT CLEAR.

Unfortunately, modifiers are uniform across the board no matter what channel you're in. If you, for example set the mix knob to a modifier tied to an expression pedal, every channel will have that. The solution is to use different LFO's tied to different modifiers if needed.

Hi Steve, your videos are excellent. I would like an opinion please Do you think that in view of the advantages that the FM9 has over the Helix (better amp's sounds, reverbs and delays) do you think someone who does not have any of the 2 units, choosing to buy the Helix in 2022 would be a bad deal? In your case, for example, I believe you have owned Helix for some time. And now you also have FM9, right? But in my case that I don't own either, I'm afraid to spend the money they still charge on a Helix and Line 6 then launch a new modeller. I even thought that in the last Namm, line 6 would release something new. But they only made suspense. But now with the year 2022 passing by, I want to buy Helix.. but I'm not sure if it would be a bad deal. Or if the best thing would be to buy the FM9 and make an effort to learn the adjustments and be happy hahaha. If you could give me an opinion it would help me a lot!

I think the FM9 is far superior to the Helix not only tonewise and feature. It's also much newer, with a much smaller footprint.
